This morning was a mix of productivity and also some laziness… I was up early with the girls at 7am, we had cereal together, and then I took a little snooze on the couch while we watched the end of the live-action Aladdin we started last night. Then I made some bacon & cheese egg bites for Addie to have for breakfast this week. (For the past almost 8 years at Growing Room, they’ve provided breakfast every day, but not anymore, so we have to get used to feeding Addie breakfast now, so we’re trying these out this week to see how it works out.) They’re mainly for Addie, but she obviously won’t eat 12 in a week, so I made some with green onions for myself too.
Then we spent about an hour doing some serious cleaning around the living room & kitchen, cleaning, vacuuming, washing dishes, taking out the trash, plus a few other things. Then I put together some lunch for all of us, and we finished the original animated version of Aladdin while we ate.
And since I was still feeling productive, we threw together some mixed berry smoothies to take over the pool for swim time at Grammy’s house.
And then on the way, we realized neither Jeff nor I had had any caffeine yet today, so we went through 7Brew for a large cinnamon roll latte for me (extra cinnamon roll flavor & extra ice), and a large tropic thunder energy drink for Jeff (light ice).
And we let Little Sister skip her nap time at home again today, and although she told us in the car she wasn’t tired and didn’t want to sleep, she eventually quit fighting and slept most of the way to Grammy’s.
Then everyone was happy and excited for swim time, in the perfect afternoon sunny weather! Meg & Bo had been out of town on a cruise vacation until this morning, but they made it back in time to come over with the girls to join us all for family time, and we had a great afternoon & evening!
Uncle Bo was getting his arm workout in for the day, tossing the big girls (not Addie) across the deep end, sending them flying through the air, splashing back into the water, and then bursting their heads back up screeching with laughter.
Meanwhile, Grandmommie held this little baby buddy inside for a nap, and when I found them, he was just relaxed and chillin’, so content and happy to just hang out.
We had sloppy joes and pasta salad and fruit and chips for a casual, relaxed dinner, and then had some play time afterwards.
Then wouldn’t you know it, less than five minutes down the road on our way home, all three of my people were asleep in the car, so I just kept singing along to my songs and let them all have a nap!
Both girls were still half asleep after walking in the house. Addie actually fell asleep on the couch again almost immediately, and Emmie seemed like she was about to at any second. So we skipped the usual Bluey episode, and got them both straight into their beds, and they were both asleep within a few minutes.
I’ve been watching this show on Netflix called “Apple Cider Vinegar,” and it’s soo good. There are only six episodes, and I’m on the last one tonight, and this last episode is just super intense. Definitely want to finish this before I go to bed, so maybe I’ll paint my nails while I keep watching.
