Well, it appears this adorable mustard-colored romper will need to be retired soon, as it’s starting to get a bit too short for her. So today may be the last time she wears it. But it’ll get passed down to baby cousin Ellie Grace (FYI – each triplet has an assigned color – Kensley = pink, Riley = turquoise, Ellie = yellow), and it’ll be adorable on her too!
Of course y’all know she was excited to find the pockets!
And this was her telling me she needed to wash her hand… Yes, only this one hand, because it was sticky. (She was eating Cheerio’s in the car, and they get sticky in little toddler hands.)
Right after taking photos, we had started walking inside, when she looked back over her shoulder, and saw Ms. Q! She got SO excited and squealed her name, and turned around and RAN back to give her a hug. It was both funny and precious.
Daily muffin… followed by super easy, drama-free drop-off!
I got to meet my mother-in-law Nita (MIL) for lunch today at Zoe’s. And it was delicious! We also ate outside on the patio in the shade of an umbrella, and it was so nice! Lovely weather for a (shaded) al fresco lunch.
This week is fire safety week at school, so a fire truck came today, and they kids all got to see a truck, and they made a tiny truck and dressed them up and look how cute!
We met up specifically to switch cars, so that she could pick up Emerson after work and then head to my house (we’re working on getting her her own car seat still). So when we left lunch, we both drove the other’s car back to work. But we also realized in all this time, we’ve never met up for a weekday lunch like this with just the two of us, and that’s just crazy!
So since Nana picked up Emmie from school (she works literally right next door), I went straight home, and they met me there. Jeff is still out of town until tomorrow, so she offered to come over to have dinner and help out through bed time, just to lend a hand. Which I was very appreciative of! It takes a village right? And I’m not one to turn down help 🙂
We had a delicious dinner at Burrito Boarder (where we ate outside again to enjoy the nice weather), and then played some games. Emerson actually ate a TON of food tonight too. Like, we were so super surprised at how much she ate. And she just kept eating! She’d say she was done, then wander around, then come back & eat. Then play games & come back and eat. And so forth & so on… There was only one triangle of her cheese quesadilla left, so we wrapped it up & took it in the car, where she nibbled on it some more.
She was determined to get the dregs of the queso out of the cup. Very determined.
This goofball took off one shoe in the car, and then was walking around the house as Emmie-One-Shoe.
Nana stayed for bath time, where Emerson was a complete nut, and she just “swam” & played and had so much fun for the longest time. We picked out some fresh, clean jammies, and she chose some silly mis-matched socks that she was very interested in.
Even after all the quesadilla she ate for dinner, she still needed a snack before bedtime! So she sat on the couch and ate some of her caramel rice crisps. We also did a video call with Daddy, and she was very excited to see him.
And then she got crazy delirious… Nana was reading her the new Baby Shark book she got her at the book fair today, and Emmie was spinning around the living room singing “doo doo doo doo doooo!” She was crazy! But so funny.
Nana headed home before bedtime, because Emmie told her, “go bye bye!” She picked the cupcake book to read tonight, and then we did prayers and lullabies.
She needed two rounds of lullabies tonight (with an attempt to lay her down and some whining in between), but then she was calm and quiet and ready to lay down.
Now that Emerson is sweetly sleeping, I have a kitchen sink full of Tupperware that’s been piling up for a few days, and more from the fridge clean-up I did this morning before taking the big trash can to the road. (Normally that’s Jeff’s job, but I’m proud of myself for remembering & doing it myself.) So I’m going to force myself to wash as much as I can in just 20 minutes (I like giving myself a time limit sometimes), and then I’ll settle in to watch some tv shows… I’ve already got my pumpkin candle burning, so it’ll be nice & cozy by the time I finish the dishes!
