I loved these new very festive outfits for my littlest Valentine’s this morning. And they were so sweet and happy today!
Oh, but before we left, they got to open up a little gift bag with goodies and treats and cool donut cups.
Both girls had parties at school with special food treats and lots of little cards and candy and treats from their friends, and Emmie’s class even had ice cream today. Lots of cute pics of Addie Pie from her teachers today.
And then when I picked Addie up after school, she saw this little hat in her bag and wanted to put it back on and wear it out to the car.
For diner, I threw together another random meal with stuff we already had on hand, trying to use up stuff in the pantry and fridge. I just mixed up half-jars of alfredo and marinara, then added some cheese and baked it, and it was really simple but really good. Next time though, I’d do more sauce and more cheese, and bake it a little longer. But Emmie loved it and asked me to make it more often, so that’s a win.
The girls had a bath after dinner, then I got Emmie dressed, and Jeff got Addie dressed. We watched “The Jungle Book” for a little bit for a pre-bedtime tv-rest, and then we started on their bedtime routines. Both girls were sleepy and easy to get to bed.
Earlier tonight, while the noodles were boiling and the pasta was baking, we were working hard cleaning up all the things we could, doing more work to prepare for the upcoming tea party this weekend. Jeff even had the girls running in & out with him, helping with the chores, and I think that’s what made them tired and worn out at bedtime. I’ve already put the leftovers away, but I’m going to wash up some dishes now, and probably try to find something else to tidy up before settling down to chill out before bedtime.
