Jeff and the girls were a little late this morning, so they switched up their routine and took Emerson to school first, so she wouldn’t be late. So they weren’t able to get their usual sister pics, and just snapped a few in the car quickly in the drop-off line.

And then apparently Addison was just about to burst and couldn’t wait one second. So they whipped into Beignets & Brew super fast, to use their restroom. Jeff offered to buy her a snack, but she didn’t want one. He did get himself a biscoff cookie coffee though, and I was jealous of that!

About halfway through my lunch break today, I got a call from the Gilchrist Clinic. And all you other mama’s (or dad’s!), know that when you see that number or caller ID come up, you’re instantly anxious and worried. I was expecting the nurse, but it was actually Emerson on the phone, crying and upset. She had slipped on the playground and hit her face/teeth and was in a lot of pain. The school isn’t able to give her any meds, so I picked her up early for some Tylenol and mommy snuggles. It wasn’t bleeding or chipped or anything, but she does think it’s a little bit wiggly. So we already have a dentist appointment for tomorrow at 8am to get it checked out, just in case. By the time I got there though, she was mostly okay, so we hit up a Little Free Library, and then headed home for some afternoon movie rest time together.

I just loved all the bright afternoon sunshine on the plants in the front window after our movie time.

Emmie and I headed out to NFC to pick up Addie a little bit earlier than usual. When we got home, I told her to take her boots off in the carport, fully knowing there would be playground sand in there. But I truly wasn’t expecting how much there actually was! Her new nickname is Little Miss Sandy Boots!

Addie told me in the car she wanted to read some books, so I told her once I got dinner in the oven, she could get some for us to read together. So next thing I know, she comes rolling in a whole wagon of books for us to read! So we cuddled up in the cozy chair in the “library” portion of the dining room, and read all of them while dinner was baking.

I kinda made up a super easy “recipe” for dinner tonight, and named it Cheesy Meatball Marinara Bake. It’s just a bag of frozen meatballs, a jar of no-sugar-added (aka low-carb) marinara sauce mixed in, topped with a whole bag of shredded mozzarella cheese. Then I baked it for about half an hour, and broiled it for two minutes to get it slightly browned on top. Paired it with a bagged, family size Caesar salad kit, and that was dinner! The girls both loved it, and Emerson kept going back for more meatballs. She had three rounds of four meatballs, and ate every single bite of them! And I loved it too, super easy, very delicious, and very filling without all the carbs from pasta or garlic bread or something.

And I finally finished up my little wintry snowy cabin puzzle tonight. It’s still plenty cold around Florida these days, but I was ready to move on from this one!

Emerson didn’t actually help me (except for like 2 pieces, a week ago), but she wanted to do this pick-it-up-and-show-it-off trick herself tonight.

And then sweet little Addie Pie wanted to help me get everything set out to start on a new puzzle. But she also wanted to be very silly and try balancing the box lid on her head.

Everyone was sweet and calm at bedtime, so things went very smoothly tonight.

I’m gonna go wash up tonight’s dishes, but then I wanna get back to this new puzzle. I actually thrifted it a month or two ago, but it’s in literally perfect condition. Just hoping all the pieces are there! It’s also a really nice brand, and one of my favorites to find and work on.

So I think I’ll put a quick 15-minute timer on my phone while I wash, and then get back to the living room to work on this, while Jeff and I watch more of a movie we started last night. I can’t remember which streaming service we’re watching it on, but it’s called “The Gorge.” It’s like sci-fi/action movie from last year, and it’s really interesting so far.
