Little Chef

Morning #2 of solo mom duty was even better than the first. I did almost everything I could last night to prep, and then allowed no dilly-dallying while we got ready. I got both girls to their respective girls a few minutes earlier than the “allowed” drop-off time, and then got myself to my 8am dentist appointment a few minutes early too. So, we did great!

I had a very rushed and chaotic 35 minutes after work, picking up both girls and getting Emerson to the gym on time. But we remembered Addie’s Kindle and a snack to keep her entertained, and she actually did really well with the 1.5 hours we were there. And I had my own Kindle of course, and was able to get in a decent amount of reading.

My sweet big girl helped me out just a little bit, acting like a Little Chef (which is what Linguini calls the rat on Ratatouille is called) and heating up some hot dogs for dinner when we got home, while I grabbed all the other stuff we needed, like plates, buns, condiments, chips & drinks.

We watched more of Star Wars episode II while we ate, and then had another video call with Daddy, since he was just getting out of his full day of the conference, at 5pm PST. They were so sweet and cuddly together, and had so much fun talking to Jeff for a little bit.

They were both very tired by the time we finally started bedtime, at almost 9pm. (Gym nights are always late nights.) But they fell asleep super fast again, after just a bedtime prayer and a lullaby.

And now I just get to cozy up with a heating pad and a blanket and the remote control 😉
