Let’s Play Mermaids!

Sweet girlies in new matching little t-shirts we got at Walmart a couple of weekends back. I don’t know why Addie wasn’t smiling in this first picture, but she was actually happy and sweet.

The girls wanted donuts for breakfast, but Jeff and I wanted a savory breakfast sandwich, and we wanted to try the new iced coffee from Whataburger. So we parked at Whataburger & walked next door for donuts for the girls, then came back to get our breakfast.

Emmie had drawn a little smiley face on her hand, and Addie wanted one too, so Emmie turned the chair and got it set up and had her sit in front of her while she knelt down to draw it on her.

We went to the library to see if I could check out the “traveling book club kit” for next months book club pick, but it wasn’t ready yet. We did stay and hang out for a little bit anyways, since they have nice little free activities for us to all do, in the air conditioning!

We made a stop at Dollar Tree after the library, and then went home for the girls to have mac & cheese for lunch. I worked on my puzzle, and they watched a movie, and then I got Addie down for her nap time.

Jeff also laid down to take a nap, so Emmie and I made a little side trip to Walmart for a few things.

When we came home, Jeff and Addie were still sleeping, so we watched a sweet little Hallmark movie together on the Peacock app (she loves those because she feels like a good girl, and I love them because I don’t have to watch another silly kids’ show or movie), and I finished my citrus puzzle!! I’ve been working on this for literally 6 weeks (started it on 7/7), and even had to bring in outside experts to help me a couple of times 😉 I’ll be gluing this one to save & frame & hang in the house because it’s so pretty!

We had to wake up Jeff and Addie both around 3pm, so that we could pack up all our stuff, get them up & moving, and head out to Grammy’s house. We had a pool party and family dinner to celebrate Papa’s birthday tonight. The triplets had to get their own mermaid tales after seeing Emmie get one for her birthday, so they were super excited to show her today! And then of course they all had to play mermaids together for the whole time!

But our littlest baby boy Hayden wasn’t outside swimming with the girls, he was inside all cozy and sleepy with the rest of the family!

All the girls wanted to eat dinner outside, and a few of the men were outside with them. Then some of the family was in the dining room, so it ended up being just me and Meg at the little kitchen table, having our own little sister date night dinner for a bit.

The girls ate outside in their bathing suits, and then ran around playing hide and seek together. Meg and I got them in the bath afterwards, and then got all five of them in their jammies.

And finally, Addison got to hold Hayden! She had met him earlier in the afternoon when we first got there, but she didn’t hold him until after dinner and bath time. She was SO incredibly sweet with him, and also just kept saying the funniest things. I can’t remember everything, but the one thing I do remember was, “He just came out of Aunt Mae-Mae’s tummy. He didn’t try my tummy.”

Once it was time for us to head home, there for four or five deer in their front yard, and more right over the fence. This one stared down Emmie for a minute or so, before bounding away.

Emerson was exhausted and fell asleep on the way home, but Addison insisted she was happy & wasn’t sleepy, and just chit-chatted and stayed awake the whole way. But both girls still went to bed really easily when we got home.

I’m watching the new Laci Peterson documentary on Netflix, and I’m going to do my nails, since I haven’t done them in like a week and a half, which is kinda crazy for me!

And here’s a cute little video I made of our family dinner time.
