Lemonade & Power Outage

Today was the annual summer lemonade stand for our children’s and youth’s ministries, as a fundraiser for missions, so obviously we had to load up on some yummy drinks after church today!

And then we had summer-time GC lunch groups spread out across the city at six or seven places. You could pick wherever you wanted to go, but the GC Kids volunteer team was going to Uncle Maddio’s for kids-eat-free lunch, so obviously that’s where our family went. And this Nashville Hot Chicken pizza I chose was delicious. But I was too busy yappin to take any other photos. (I actually didn’t even pick up my phone after this photo, and then had like a billion notifications when we got back home later.)

We got out of church late, then had the whole lemonade hoopla, drove far across town for a late lunch, stayed awhile, then drove all the way back across town afterwards. So with all of that, it was like 2:30 by the time I finally got this baby panda down for her nap, and 3pm by the time I was falling asleep for my own nap. Jeff and I both slept like three hours then, and didn’t wake up until after 6pm!

Then of course it was too late to cook, and I didn’t want to go out, so we just did cereal for dinner again tonight, which the girls really love, so it’s a win-win all around.

The girls needed to get some wiggles out afterwards, so we put on a bunch of kids praise songs with motions, and they danced around for 30 minutes or more, having so much fun and being so cute and sweet!

Eventually we gave them sleepy gummies and got them calmed down, then went through the normal bedtime routines.

After getting Emmie to sleep, I wrote about 80% of this post, and then we lost power in the house! Jeff went outside and looked up the hill and the whole street is completely dark, and so is the apartment complex neighborhood across from our house in the other direction. No idea what happened, but we’re really hoping they get it turned back on and fixed quickly, before the house has a chance to get too hot overnight!

Update – praise the Lord, it only lasted about 30 minutes, and power is back on already! Still praying it doesn’t happen again!
