Cute girls, still rocking sweatshirts on these cold mornings. And Addie also rockin’ her socks with sandals look she’s so fond of 🤣

My leftover cheeseburger soup was still just as delicious today as it was the first night I made it. I had already diced up tomatoes and pickles into little jars, and brought my cheese and bacon bits too. But I was sad I forgot the crispy onions!

I led my first training class at work today, all thought up and created by myself over the last couple of months. And it went great! It was just the basics of my specialized unit, provided as cross-training for other units in my area. I had eight participate today, and I’ll have eight more in a second class in two weeks. Well, I wore my new special dress I found for my birthday when I was shopping with my mother-in-law, with this cute pattern. I also got a matching cardigan (you can see I’m holding it, but it was warm outside while waiting on Jeff to pick me up), but when I had on that, and my purple tumbler I use at work for water, my friend Shanka called me the Lavender Leopard, and I loved that!

We actually left work a tad bit early today, because Jeff had to ship off a laptop through FedEx. I also picked up a book I bought off Facebook Marketplace, and we visited a nearby Little Free Library as well.

Then we dropped off Jeff at church for an upcoming missions trip meeting, and the girls and I just ran to Zaxby’s for a quick dinner.

When we got home, I had two exciting packages waiting for me – the new Nick Jonas vinyl record I ordered for myself as a birthday gift, and a cute little 3D wooden puzzle bookshop from my Mama as a belated Christmas gift. Funny story, she got me a puzzle for Christmas that I had literally just thrifted myself a few days prior to that! So she returned that, and got me this wooden puzzle instead. Can’t wait to work on it! And I’ve already been listening to the new album on YouTube music, and it’s really good.

One of Jeff’s friends brought him home from church tonight, and he got home in the middle of me getting the girls ready for bed. Emmie finished up her homework, and Addie fed Pennie. Then we watched PB&J Otter together, before Emmie and I went to have our reading time. And we finally finished the first Harry Potter book! We’ve been reading it together since last fall, and read multiple times a week up until Addie moved into the trundle in Emmie’s room. Then, things kinda slowed down, and it took us like two months to finish the last 25%-ish of the book. While I was reading tonight, I played the movie soundtrack on my phone, and it turned the last 10 or so minutes of reading into a fun, magical experience!

She loved it so much, and I loved re-reading it with her! Now of course we’ll re-watch the first movie (probably a couple of times, because she’s been dying to watch it and I keep telling her no, making her wait until we finished the book), and then eventually we’ll get started reading the second book together too!

The girls are both sound asleep and I need to wash up some dishes. Jeff is currently putting away the clean dishes, and cleaning off the kitchen counter, kinda prepping the space for me while I finish writing here.
