Cutie patootie baby girl before school!
So in case you’ve noticed all the cute little hair clips Emmie has been wearing this week, it’s because over the weekend, I discovered a stash of them I had bought at Mule Day two years ago, and hid away for safe-keeping while she was bald, and apparently forgot about. I randomly came across them this past weekend, and she instantly loved them. So I’ve been trying to match outfits & clips every day this week, and I just think she looks adorable with her hair clipped back like this!
Smashing her little face into the muffin as she walks down the hall 😆
I had some leftovers from Taco Republik for my lunch today, and even though the chips were stale, and quesadilla was still yummy!
After work, Jeff picked up Emerson from daycare. I had hoped I could meet him there to see Emmie for a few quick minutes, before I headed back out to church for a women’s Bible study meeting, but I got stuck at work late, and wasn’t able to do that. It was ok though, and I just went straight to church for the WMU meeting (Women’s Missionary Union). When I went last month (it’s only one Thursday a month), I scarfed down Taco Bell nachos with Jeff and Emerson before running out to the church. Tonight though, my Mama brought a crock-pot full of chili for everyone to eat together, and my Grandmommie made a sour cream pound cake for dessert. So yummy! And look at how gorgeous the sky was behind the church when I pulled in! 😍
One of the verses my Mama shared with us during the Bible study portion of the meeting was Zephaniah 3:17, which happens to be one of my very favorites ever, and I had “journaled” it in my journaling Bible a couple of years ago. (My drawing is supposed to be a piano, but the black keys are too chunky, so it looks kinda weird.) Anyways, the verse says, “The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love, He will exult over you with loud singing.”
It was a great meeting, and I was glad to have been able to attend. My Mama does a great job leading it, and I’m not just saying that because she’s my Mama! 😁
Afterwards, I made a quick stop at Walmart to buy a couple of bags of rolls to take for our Thanksgiving lunch for work tomorrow. (I took the cheap, easy way out, since I knew I’d get home late tonight.)
And just 90 seconds before I pulled in my driveway (and only 12 hours before it disappears, a large portion of which would be spent sleeping…), I finished the Elton John book just in time! Definitely going to try to watch the Rocket Man movie soon, maybe even this weekend.
And while I was at church, Jeff and Emmie ate Hardee’s cheeseburger sliders together for dinner, after she specifically requested mini burgers. And she ate an entire slider! Which I’m not surprised about – the girl loves a burger!
She also had a few licks of a lollipop for dessert, but daddy said she didn’t want much, so they wrapped it back up for later. But this time it’s on a table where Pretzel can’t find it and eat it…
Then she started taking the toys out of her bucket one by one, and placing them on Jeff’s chest….
And by the time I got home, I found her like this, surrounded by allll the things, casually reading her gardening book, repeating “laugh & play” over & over. Well, it didn’t sound like too much of anything, but eventually that’s what Jeff told me she was saying, after they had sung “Mary Had A Little Lamb” earlier, from the verse “it made the children laugh & play which was against the rules.” Apparently, that little phrase just really stuck in her mind!
Jeff and Emerson cleaned everything up while I got all my stuff unloaded and put away, and took some meds for this killer headache I developed this evening. (It was actually a rough day at work, so I’m surprised I didn’t get one earlier in the day.) We then read a few night-night books, but her and I were both so tired, her bedtime was easy, and mine will be coming very soon.
I’m actually so tired, I’m not even going to make any hot tea tonight. I’ll probably watch one episode of FRIENDS with Jeff (just to chill out and wind down), and then head off for a slightly early bedtime.
