Kolache, Costco & Cookies

Since the girls were with Nana at their sleepover from last night, Jeff and I were able to take it slow & easy this morning, which was such a nice change. We didn’t even get dressed or head out for errands until after 10am, and we stopped to try Shipley’s donuts for the first time. The owner was there and came out and met us, and gave us both a free glazed donut while we looked at everything and make our decisions, and it was actually the best glazed donut I’ve ever had. Then I chose this sausage, cheese & jalapeno kolache, which was sooooo delicious. It’s kinda like a big pig-in-a-blanket deal, which is one of my favorite snacks, so this was perfect and right up my alley. I want another one again already!

Jeff and I ran a few errands around town, then headed over to Nana’s house to see our girls. We decided to go out for lunch, and to keep running more errands. We had lunch at Roboto’s, and dang that hibachi chicken was yummy.

And then we just happened upon the brand new Crumbl Cookies that just opened up yesterday, which was right next door to Roboto’s. So of course we just had to go in and get ourselves some cookies! We hadn’t ever even tried the one up on the North side of town near our church, but it was so nice! We each picked a cookie, and then took them home for later…

Emmie and I went into the Goodwill bookstore to work on my summer goal of thrifting my favorite fantasy series, but didn’t find any of those books. We did however find two “little girl” puzzles and I picked a puzzle too, and Emmie found a Doc McStuffin’s book, all of which cost us $8 total. Also, I told her I wanted to take her picture, and she set up this little pose and set-up all by herself.

Then Nana took us to Costco with her membership, so we could get things like toilet paper and laundry detergent. We also picked up a few other things while we were there for meals this week, and we both got produce that we split between us to share.

When we got back to Nana’s house, everybody cuddled up in the afternoon thunderstorm, for a late-afternoon nap.

And then they got back in the tiny pool Nana found! (They had gotten in this morning too, but something happened and I messed up the upload of Nana’s photos from this morning, and I’m too tired and it’s too late for me to go back and get them fixed & inserted…)  But they were cute in that fun colorful pool, and had fun splashing, and squirting water guns, and playing together for a while before dinner.

And as usual, we got their baby soap and washed their hair & bathed them in the pool, so they were fresh & clean & smelling great when we got them out and wrapped up in warm fluffy towels.

We had a little bit more downtime before dinner was ready, so we just relaxed and took it easy.

We had gotten this meatloaf & mashed potato dinner from Costco earlier, so while that baked in the oven, Nana also warmed up some corn & green beans to go with it, and this was a great meal, and both girls ate so much food. Add especially really loved the meatloaf and just ate it all up.

After dinner, we changed the girls into the jammies, and then we got everything packed up and loaded into the car (we had SO much stuff, from their sleepover & our Costco trip), and then we headed back home to get the girls down for bedtime.

Addison went down really easily, but Emerson needed lots of extra time and loves and cuddles, before she finally fell asleep pretty late tonight. We had such a nice, chill day today, and I’m very thankful for that. We have some chores & errands we really need to take care of tomorrow, but at least today was relaxing!
