Jade Green

My sweet little Emmie girl ended up back in my bed with me around 1am, and Jeff was nice enough to sleep on the couch so she could stay with Mama. Then she actually slept until 7:30, and Addie slept until 9am! But by the time Addie woke up, Emmie was ready for a little morning nap. So this picture is actually from around 9:45, midway through morning nap.

So then finally around 10:30am, we were all starving, so we made some of the frozen Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, and everyone ate every bite.

The girls played for a little bit, and Jeff went to go pick up our Walmart grocery order. I decided to show Emerson the new Taylor Swift music video for “Anti-Hero,” and about 6 seconds into it, she was already like, “Oh wow I like this.” And then she wanted to just keep re-watching it, so we watched it like 5 or 6 times, with her just sitting and starting and trying to sing the words she didn’t even know yet.

And then it was time to get busy on some chores, because the front main living areas of the house (living room, dining room, kitchen), were all just a chaotic mess. The living room was mostly full of scattered clean clothes that needed folding, and kids toys everywhere…

Gathered up some Holocaust fiction (which was my favorite genre for a long time) to share with Meg, who’s on a little reading kick right now and wanted to borrow books from my own personal library, so I’ll take these to her at church tomorrow.

We had lunch at home, and then got both girls down for a late-ish afternoon nap. Jeff went out front to mow the yard (hopefully for the last time for a long time), and I had a cup of coffee and folded a ton of tiny girl clothes while watching tv.

But this is my tiny sock graveyard…. I matched up about 10 pairs for each girl, and still had this many leftover with no matches! Now, there is one more clean load, and one more dirty load, so I’m hoping some of those other matches will be found in those loads.

Emmie woke up from her nap after about 1.5 hours, so I was able to put all of her clothes away in her room. Then I finished cleaning up the living room, and vacuumed, and look how much neater it looks!

Addison napped for literally 3 hours, and had to be woken up by Jeff finally. He got her dressed, and Emmie and I got ready, and we headed towards the car to go run some errands. But as we opened the back door, there was a package waiting for me! The mail person must have dropped it during the 5 minutes we were all in the back of the house, so I didn’t even know it was here, and wasn’t expecting it yet, since my tracking number said it would be delivered Wednesday.

When she first announced all the merch for the upcoming release, I had no intentions to buy anything (mainly because I’m cheap), but when these special editions with the beautiful colors were announced, I just knew I had to have this beautiful Jade Green one, with that beautiful cover! It was made to sit in my vintage 1970’s record player, and I love it so much! We were literally running out the door, but I took the time to open it up; can’t wait to actually play it on my record player tomorrow!

We also stopped on our way down the street to take a picture of the beautifully mowed front lawn, that Jeff was so proud of because of his nice cut-lines.

And even after all of his yard work, Jeff was still up for running errands. We made one quick stop by the library to return a boatload of Emerson’s picture books, and then headed to TJ Maxx. We were actually hoping to find Addison a Halloween costume there, but no luck – I did however buy myself a couple of new tops. Jeff just looks so cute with the baby backpack, pushing those little girls in the buggy 🙂

We had considered Grub Burger for dinner right next door, but Emerson requested pizza, so we hopped over to Blaze pizza instead, which was delicious of course as always.

We had just a little bit of cuddle time when we got home, and then started working to get the girls ready for bed. Emmie wanted to sleep with Mommy again tonight, and Jeff was nice enough to volunteer for the couch again, while Emmie’s not feeling so great and just wants all the Mommy loves.

Both girls went to sleep easily, and by now, it’s past 10pm, and I’m pretty sure Jeff is probably already asleep in the living room too. I’m going to finish up my current episode of “Survivor” and then head to bed myself, because I’m also tired from all my chore sand cleaning today, but still have more to do tomorrow actually…
