Hug a Pineapple

With the girls having a sleepover at Grammy’s house, I wanted to sleep in a little bit more than I actually did, but 8am was still pretty decent. I hopped on the computer early to write yesterday’s blog post with a little cup of coffee. When Jeff woke up, he made us a can of cinnamon rolls, and another cup of coffee for me, and I curled up on the couch to warm up and enjoy some chill time.

We watched an episode of a show together, and then spent about 10 minutes tidying up a little bit. We got dressed and met up with Grammy at Papa and the girls for lunch at Hopkins. I got the Mediterranean tuna salad with Ranch dressing, which is SO good.

Next up was some thrifting at City Walk on Monroe Street, where Emmie hit the jackpot this time. We went to 7Brew next to get my free birthday coffee, and went all out with a giant iced caramel macchiato, that would usually cost like $9-10. And while we were sitting in the line with all our windows down, the snow flurries started!! We could hear all the other cars and the employees all freaking out getting excited, taking pictures and videos!

Look closely slightly above the “open” sign on the left, and you can see a little white snow flurry in the photo! 🤣

When we got to the library, it was “really coming down,” so we got out to play in a little before going inside, but you couldn’t really see it in photos or videos (you can see the flurries if you look very closely), but it was really cool anyways and you could still see it with your own eyes. And Emmie is drinking a decaf mocha, looking like a little teenager… Until the picture a few down, where she has her little chocolate smudged mouth 😉

Emmie was wearing a shirt that Aunt Jane brought her from Hawaii, that came with a cute matching little keychain she carried around all day, that says “hug a pineapple” on the back. She though that was so cute and funny.

Our little extroverted Tiny Tot was just having her own conversation with the librarian as I was doing the self check-out. She went over to get stickers from her, and saw the scanner with the red light, and was just asking all sorts of questions about it, and about the lady, and she was so funny about all of it.

We dropped off Jeff and Addison at home, and cleaned out the trunk of all the school bags and hoopla, and then Emerson and I picked up the grocery order. It took forever unfortunately, but we finally made it back home and got the cold stuff put away. (The rest of it can be dealt with tomorrow.) Emmie and I worked together to start cataloguing her book collection from the bookshelf in her room, with her pulling out books, reading out their title and author, and me adding it to the Google Sheets doc I keep of all our books. I did mine a couple of months ago, and want to add all of hers too.

Then it was time to meet up with Nana and PopPop for another birthday celebration for me, at Longhorn. I did the filet mignon with a cup of French onion soup (and resisted the loaf of bread completely!), and it was all so yummy!

They brought me out an ice cream Sundae for my birthday, so I took a few bites and then let the girls share the majority of it.

We put the girls straight into the bath when we got home, and they stayed in as long as they could since it was so warm and cozy. Emerson and I were able to read a few pages of Harry Potter while Addie watched Bluey with Daddy.

For my birthday, Jeff got me a little diffuser for my bedside table, and I got it all tidied up and set up tonight. I also placed my new thrifted basket here, to hold my favorite chapstick, the most amazing smelling oil for the diffuser, my nightly lotion (that Meg got me from Israel that I’m obsessed with), and I’ll drop my phone in here at night too. And I left a space on the corner to place my water bottle at bedtime too. It all looks so nice and cute now, and smells amazing!

Addie was very into my new diffuser and really loved the scent too.

Looking forward to some more couch time tonight, and definitely trying to stay warm!
