Homework Supervisor

Emerson was too cold to get out of the car at Addison’s drop-off, and then Jeff and Addie ran so fast they didn’t even take any pics. He just took this very sunny pic of Emmie in the car line drop-off at her school before she hopped out of the car.

So when we got home again tonight after school and work, I took end-of-the-day sister pics, in their little sweatshirts and peace hands.

They requested to do a silly face picture, and so that’s whatever this is…

I spent a quick 10-is minutes in the kitchen throwing together a bacon and Swiss crustless quiche, and the popped it in the oven to bake off for dinner.

Then I helped Emerson with some “research” and spelling for a school project, while she did the actual creative and creating part. They have to make a cereal boxes for Black History month, and of course she chose Simone Biles.

Pennie sat in the chair behind me the whole time, as our little homework supervisor.

The quiche came out perfectly, even better than the last time I made it actually. We had strawberries and cantaloupe (see the little hand swooping in to grab a taste test) on the side, with some cottage cheese for me and Emmie. I put green onions on mine, but then I ended up scraping them all off, because it was better without them.

Since it took so long for dinner to bake tonight, we ate a little later than usual. So then after dinner it was time for bed pretty much straight away. And lucky for us, both girls were tired enough that they fell asleep very quickly and easily. You can see Addie holding on to Jeff’s arm, and Emmie holding on to Pennie’s paw. All very sweet.

I didn’t wash dishes last night, so now tonight I have two meals’ worth of dishes to catch up on. I’m getting to the “good part” towards about 75% of my current audio book, which is a mystery thriller kind of situation. So things are starting to get really good and some things are starting to fall in line, and it’s very interesting. So I’ll listen to that while I wash, and at least have some entertainment while I work on chores.
