My friend Sydney sent me this picture from her time volunteering in the preschool room at church this morning. What a little cutie pie!!
For lunch today, we hit up Zaxby’s. I had found a $15 gift card in my purse, and there was $5 “coupon” in the app, so I ordered on the app from the church parking lot before driving over. We got there so fast, the app said it would be 10 more minutes before it was ready, so we brought books for entertainment inside with us while we waited.
I tried their new buffalo chicken tacos for my lunch, and they were very good and very filling.
The girls and I were trying to take a post-lunch selfie, but Emmie’s little short arms were just not long enough for the job, but she was working hard at it! Jeff took a pic of us taking our selfie, and then he took a good one for us 🙂
The restaurant was all decorated with pink streamers, balloons, tissue paper fluffs, and even pink light bulbs in the hanging lamps above all of the tables. I’m assuming it was for breast cancer awareness month, and t was very festive!
Addie and Daddy napped together after church. Emmie and I posted up on the couch to read a bit together, and of course Pennie joined us. And then us three girls napped on the couch together too.
We had Connect Groups at church tonight, so that meant a big group dinner beforehand first. And then some of our Hispanic friends from our group brought homemade guava pastries and homemade flan for our group and WOW these were both delicious. There was still more flan left at the end of class, and since the slices were so teeny, I grabbed myself another one on the way out 😉
There’s always quite the a bit of chaos when we’re picking up the girls, with hugs and loves all around, and tonight that involved lots of carrying people around as well 🤣
We brought home some of the leftover mac & cheese from group dinner tonight, which was a good thing, since both girls were hungry again. So they both had mac & cheese for their second dinner at 8pm in their jammies.
We were able to finish another chapter of Harry Potter together tonight (I now read aloud from my Kindle which is way easier to hold, and she follows along on the giant illustrated book), before it was bedtime.
But then, she was having a hard time falling asleep, so she wanted to lay down on the couch with Pennie while I have been writing this post on the computer. When Jeff came to check on her, he found them both stretched out and very cozy together, with Emerson totally and completely asleep.
I have some more dishes to finish washing up tonight, and we need to work on more laundry, and some packing actually! Jeff and I are going on a little mini vacay together to Jacksonville in the middle of the week for a belated anniversary trip, and the girls are staying with my parents. So we’ve got to do laundry and packing for all of us! Going to try to start on that tonight if possible…
