So every weekend, I pick out clothes for the upcoming week, and lay them out on her dresser. So even though this outfit was “scheduled” for Thursday in the line-up, she saw it this morning and just had to wear it, because she was so excited about her new tennis shoes!
She also specifically chose the spot where she wanted to take photos today, instead of just wherever we happened to park that morning, which is our usual situation.
And just look at her modeling these new Converse All-Stars!
I toasted last night’s leftover bread in the toaster oven, then dressed it up with butter and strawberry jelly, with a full-to-the-brim jar of cold brew, and man this was muy delicioso!
It was dark and stormy and rainy this morning, and it was perfect for kicking my feet up on my lunch break and just watching some Netflix for an hour.
The caption for these photos said they were working together to build a candle. But her daily report said they built castles today. But when William’s Mom asked him what it was, he said castle – she suggested maybe they were starting to build their dream home together!? (This is the same twin she was hugging all over last week at school.) I asked Emmie, but she said candle. So it’s quite a mystery what exactly they were building, but they certainly looked super cute working together!
So we ended up getting quite a few packages in the mail today… I’ve been a member of Disney Movie Club for about 10 years now, which is how we occasionally get Disney movies at a good price. They send a special offer every month, and you have to either accept or decline, and although I usually decline, I forgot to do it this month, so we got random surprise movies today, that I didn’t even know were coming. Oops. At least they’re movies Emmie will like!
I also got some Old Navy masks I ordered a few weeks ago, a new E.L.F. concealer I ordered from Amazon, and our every-other-month subscription to Dollar Shave Club (we have two handles & we both use the same blades; even though they’re technically for me, they work really great for women too).
This tiny helper went out back with Daddy to pick me a couple sprigs of green onions (or maybe these are chives actually?), for me to use for dinner.
Then I used these ingredients… And this recipe…
… to make Asian pork & mushroom bowls and lettuce wraps. This was my first time making this, but it was really yummy! It may not look like much or look very fancy, but the flavors were amazing! Next time, we want to add something crunchy on top, like those chow mein noodles that come in a can. (Those are one of my random obsessions.) And more chives on mine.
Even Emerson loved it! She ate everything on her plate, and asked for more! And then she surprised me by picking up one of the lettuce wraps, and finishing it off! This plate below was her second helping, of which she ate about half of.
And we have enough leftover for lunch one day this week as well. Will definitely make this again.
We had some cuddle movie time after dinner, and popped in the new “Ferdinand” movie. There was a fun song towards the beginning, and she got up and was jumping and dancing all around the living room, then rolling all over the floor. She looked up at me and hollered, “I’m rollin’ in the mud, Mama!”
Gummies and dinosaur book before bed, and like a few nights ago, she kept looking up at me with the sweetest most excited face, just making so much eye contact while listening to me read, and being the most precious girl.
I washed up all the dishes and got the kitchen just as clean and pretty as it was last night. I’m feeling a little run-down and slightly exhausted, so I think I’ll attempt an early, or at least not-so-late, bedtime tonight, and try to get some good rest.
