Grown-Up Treasure Box

Addie couldn’t be bothered to quit snacking long enough to take a quick sister pic, but they’re both still super cute.

I worked on a really challenging project at work this week, writing a reference manual for our field staff on a very niche part of what we do. It took me about three days, and it’s like 12 pages long. I turned it into my Bureau Chief today, who in turn let me pick out prizes from her “prize drawer,” which was hilarious to me and I also loved it. It was like the grown-up version of the treasure box at the kids’ dentist. The candle smells delicious, and the I’ve actually needed a tiny sanitizer for my purse lately, so that was convenient.

Meg and I had sister lunch at Chicken Salad Chick today. I wanted to go there specifically to try their new spring flavor, Dill-licious Diva, with lots of dill and cucumber, but they were out of it, so that was a bummer. I went with my usual go-to, Lauren’s Lemony Basil, which was still super yummy.

Started a new audio book after work today. Been waiting on this one for a while, but obviously I had to wait for the audio version read by the author herself.

PopPop took Emerson to gymnastics again today, and Nana picked up Addie after work. So then we all met up for dinner at Culver’s, complete with fries, cheese curds & custard.

And this messy-haired weirdo was chomping on this lemon slice for like 10 minutes, and never even made one face as if it was sour or something…

I finished my re-do of this pizza truck puzzle last night, but apparently it now has one missing piece, unfortunately. So then after getting that one put away, Addison actually picked out my next puzzle for me, from my stack in the dining room.

So I worked on getting all the pieces sorted out while Emmie played a little video game, Addie read a little book, and Jeff tried not to takeover the video game playing with all his “help” 🤣

Emerson wanted “mommy cuddles” for bedtime, which just means we do her bedtime routine in my bed, and then we both fall asleep for a little while, before finally moving her to her own bed. So I consider that my little pre-bedtime nap, or a “nap-itizer,” and now after writing this, I’ll read a little and then go back to sleep.
