Grown-Up Lunchables

Addie was a bit grumpy for no reason for our morning sister pics today, and no amount of cheering or cajoling could get her to take a sweet smiley pic, with her coral-colored sister.

But then she was silly and smiley and picking up magnolia cone-thingy’s (what are these called?) to show me before heading into school.

Emerson was treated to a special breakfast sandwich from the fancy Cumberland gas station with Daddy this morning.

Addison was practicing the letter “F” at school today.

On our way home from school, Emerson pulled out two books she got from the school library, and was very excited to read one of them as we drove home. Addie Pie was just sweetly playing with her little baby doll.

For dinner tonight, we used Greek pitas to make little mini “homemade” pizzas. The girls wanted to help mommy with dinner of course, and they did a great job! For the girls, we did hamburger on one, and bacon on the other, and kept them really simple. For mine and Jeff’s, I added some veggies (onion for both, tomato for me), plus ricotta cheese on mine. The whole thing felt a little like giant Lunchables for grown-ups, and it was really fun and easy.

I also threw together a little salad for Jeff and I, and mixed up some French onion dip, just because. I actually had picked up a little packet of the Kinder’s brand onion dip mix that I wanted to try out, and I had a tub of Greek yogurt in the fridge that needed to be used, so that was pretty perfect actually. And it was good!

I got the girls in the bathtub while Jeff cleaned up from dinner a little bit. They both put on clean Elsa nightgowns, picked out a snack, and then we watched a movie for a little bit, and I put a few more pieces of my puzzle together.

Then right as it was time to head to bed, Emerson remembered she hadn’t finished her homework. She freaked out a little bit, but we went to the dining room together and I helped her work through it, and everything was fine. She was just a little bit dramatic about it first 😉

I read her a book for bedtime, to help get her out of her grumpy mood, since she didn’t feel like reading herself. I picked a funny one, and did all the voices and stuff, and I had her happy and smiling in no time!

Gonna wash dishes for just a little bit, and then probably finish up my current Kindle book, because I’m very close to the end now.
