Emerson picked out her own tshirt and tennis shoes today, and looked pretty adorable, if I do say so myself. At school, she was pointing up at, and dancing to a birdie chirping and singing. It was really cute 🙂
I brought some leftover taco fixin’s for lunch today, and while I ate, I listened to a little bit of my Harry Potter audio book. And then I also started reading my next book. I actually own this one, but haven’t read it yet, as it just came out in April.
I’m not usually one to write in or mark up my books, but since this is non-fiction with practical life tips for how to not overthink your life, I figured there would be some good things worth underlining, so I grabbed my favorite simple blue pen, and started underline almost from the very first page… This book is already speaking my language.
Another good day at school for my Tater Tot, and she went to the potty like a big girl alll day.
Tonight’s weather was absolutely perfect again. So Jeff fired up the charcoal grill, and we made hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner. I loaded up all our stuff from inside in a cute little basket, and we picnic’ed out on our back patio. And it was lovely!
We decided we’re going to do a little potty training boot camp this weekend, so we started tonight. She does sooooo well going pee on the toilet at school, but she absolutely refuses to go on the potty at home. She’ll sit down every now and then, but I’ve literally never seen her pee on the potty. So since we finally have nothing on the agenda (in the outside world) this weekend, we’re going to work really hard at it for a couple of days.
We just camped out right next to the tiny potty tonight, hoping she would let me know when she needed to go. She sat on there for like 30 or 45 minutes through the night, watching potty videos on YouTube or watching Megan & Bo & the triplets go live on Instagram, and we even read some books. But after all that, she still didn’t do anything.
It was a super chill night, and we didn’t really do anything other than sit outside for a while, and sit on the floor for a while. And then it was finally bedtime… I read this puppy book to her at bedtime, and then she decided that she needed to read it to me too, and she was so precious about it.
After getting Emerson down for bedtime, I grabbed my disinfecting spray I got from Grove, and walked through every room in the house, spraying handles, door knobs, light switches, faucets, toilet-flushers, and whatever else looked like it needed to be disinfected.
Gonna go plop down on the couch and chill some more, and just enjoy a lazy Friday night at home with my hubby.
I’m looking forward to getting some more stuff done around the house this weekend, both indoors and outdoors. As much as I miss seeing friends and family, and going out to restaurants, and attending church every weekend, it’s also been nice to have extra time for projects. What kinds of projects are y’all working on this weekend?
