Beautiful pink & blue cotton candy skies this morning!
And a silly little goose at morning drop-off. She helped pick this exact spot for photos, and was also particularly excited about her new shoes! (Nana got these on clearance over the summer, but they were too big then…)
And once again, after just a few photos, she came hopping back to Mommy!
Leftover IKEA Swedish meatballs & mashed potatoes from last night, complete with a tiny container of the lingonberry jam that seems like such a weird, random addition to meatballs, it so stinking delicious.
And I finally finished reading “Little Women” today! This was the first time I’ve ever read it, and I found it so comforting. I loved these four sisters, and their relationships with each other, and their parents, and their spouses. And Laurie, of course. And the professor. It may have taken me 33 days to finish this thick book, but I really, really enjoyed it. Not only is this Puffin Classics a beautiful cover of this book, but this story was so sweet and beautiful. Now I can’t wait to see the newest film adaptation, hopefully soon!
Look at how cute this little Tater Tot is at school this morning. And then she had a great day today! Look at the screenshot of our parent portal below. She napped for almost 2.5 hours, and went pee-pee in the potty! This is only about the 3rd or 4th time she’s done that, and only one other time at Megan’s house, so it’s still a big deal, and we were so excited for and proud of her! (I love that Miss Jessica put the cute little emojis on the report.)
So even though tonight was a Wednesday, and we have a predictable pattern of family dinner followed by church every week, I went off-schedule today. Grammy still picked up Emerson from school, and she went to dinner with the family as usual. Jeff even got off early so he could eat with them as well, since he usually doesn’t make it in time. Then the rest of the family went to church, and Jeff and Emmie came home after it was all done.
I still got off work at 4:30, but I went home to let out Pretzel, and I got myself some dinner, and then I went to a different church here in town. My friend Trenton from my church was the “special worship guest” for a revival at Fellowship Baptist, and he asked me to sing with him tonight, so that’s where I went! I got there early for rehearsal, then we sang five great songs together with a few other vocalists and instrumentalists, and listened to a great revival sermon.
Then Jeff & Emmie got home just a little bit after I did, which was great, because I missed my girl tonight and wanted to be able to see her before her bedtime!
She was super sweet and giggly and silly, and I hated to even put her to bed, because I missed her so much and she was so precious. But because it was like 8:45 and despite her great mood, I knew she was actually getting super tired and delirious, so we started bedtime. She was really sweet and gave me lots of loves, and bedtime was actually really easy.
I’m making a cup of hot lemon tea, and eating a delicious homegrown grapefruit (swirled with honey) that the nice people at the church were giving out tonight. My Mama got me this cute little penguin tea-steeper-timer-guy, that holds your tea bag while the timer’s clicking, and then pops it out when it goes off. So cute!
I’ve got a tiny sinus headache trying to start up, so I’m going to grab some sinus meds and drink my tea, and then head to bed soon-ish.
