My two little matching beauties before church today, both prepared with their own little Bibles. Grandmommie gave this tiny one to Addison yesterday, and she is very proud of it. She told everyone about it today, and kept showing it off the whole time.
Emmie asked to go to Culver’s for lunch. But when we got there it was completely packed with not one single spot to park. So we went through the drive-thru instead and just brought it home with us. And that was actually really nice to just eat at home and watch a movie.
Daddy and Addison took a nap after lunch, but my little buddy stayed up with me. We washed a few dishes together, and then she made our dinner by getting three simple ingredients mixed up in the crockpot.
We snuggled up on the couch for a little movie rest time, and wouldn’t you know it, I fell asleep for quite some time right there on the couch.
Once we all woke up, we spent about an hour working on some chores around the house, washing dishes, tidying the living and dining room, changing out the table cloth for place mats, and a few other things. Oh, and Addison and I played a little puzzle game together while Emerson also put on a little gymnastics show for us too.
I made up some white rice and some butter beans, and then we were ready for Sunday dinner. We even ate off our nice ceramic plates, which we haven’t done in ages, since we always use our shatter-proof plastic ones instead. But the girls thought these were so fancy and did perfectly fine with them. The girls also loved this meal. Emmie ate two helpings of everything, and Addie ate extra meatballs.
A few nights ago, three of our five bulbs finally went out (probably hadn’t changed them since we moved in eight years ago), so Jeff found some bulbs he had in his little stash and changed them out for us, while we all just sat there watching.
The girls were kinda running wild playing and having fun after dinner, and Jeff was working on some computer stuff, and I did some more work in the kitchen. We had tons of rice and meatballs leftover from dinner, but not enough of the beans. So I heated up another can of the Margaret Holmes veggies, succotash this time, and then divvied everything up to take for a few lunches this week. I had also baked some potatoes this evening so they would be prepped and ready for a different meal later this week, so now that they were cooled down after dinner, I put them away to save for Tuesday probably.
Once we got the wild girls calmed down and into their jammies, we settled back down on the couch for a little tv and puzzle time. That of course led to Bluey time, and then bedtime.
We cleaned out Emerson’s school binder at bedtime, and I just wanted to memorialize this math test she earned a 100% on, especially since she doesn’t think she’s good at math and “struggles” with it on her homework at night. Honestly, she always gets her homework right, but she really agonizes over it.
Today was my turn for praise team, so I was at the church early for rehearsal, and then sang a lot today, and was on my feet for basically four hours from 8am to noon. Then I had a nice little nap in the afternoon, and then was on my feet again around the house from basically 5-8pm. We got the girls’ clothes picked out for tomorrow, and I’m going to set up the coffee, and then sit back and kick my feet up.
