Grandmommie’s Birthday Dinner

I love everything about this first sister photo from this morning! Emmie’s outfit was so cute, and I loved Addie’s dress & sweater. Plus the arm over the shoulder, and the beautiful sunrise in the background! Uh, just love it all!

And both girls wanted buns and claw clips in their hair today, and that turned out super cute too.

I actually did school drop-off for both girls today, and then ran by Trader Joe’s before work. We had a little pizza party at lunch today with my small unit, and I planned to bake a cake to bring in. But it turned out that my cake mix and my canola oil were both expired, so I went by this morning to grab cute little TJ’s cakes to bring in instead. And those definitely turned out much better.

I was using my TJ’s tote bag for all sorts of my belongings today, then with brown paper TJ’s bag, plus a new January calendar for my office wall, it was just a cute little pile of stuff in my front seat.

And another beautiful sky photo on my way towards downtown.

We had the pizza party today in my unit to celebrate completing a challenge at the end of last year. So my supervisor bought our group these little individual deep dish / cheese stick boxes, that were only $4.99 each. Such a good deal! Not low-carb obviously, but a splurge to celebrate with my coworkers. I only hate half though, then shared some and brought some home to Jeff. I did have to try a small piece of both cakes though, and both were yummy.

I picked up both girlies after school and work, and headed out to Grammy and Papa’s house. On our way there, Emmie just happened to spot a giant Little Free Library, and told me “it was stacked with books.” So we did a u-turn and went back to check it out. And we hit the jackpot finding some vintage Boxcar Children books, from the 80’s & 90’s that we were excited about. (This one is right out in front of Deer Lake Middle, if you wanna check it out.)

We had the whole fam out to their house tonight, for a big family dinner celebrating Grandmommie’s birthday. Her birthday is actually tomorrow, but we had a huge salad bar and baked potato bar tonight for a slightly early celebration.

Emmie always likes for us to be the last to leave, so that we can have a little bit of time with the grandparents and just us. Tonight, she grabbed Grammy’s phone and was playing her Fetch games for her, earning her points, all snuggled up next to Papa playing his own little game on his phone.

It’s always incredibly chaotic with all 18 of us together, but it’s a great time, and I’m thankful to have so much family all together here in town! And now I’m thankful to wind down in the quiet at home on a Friday night 🙂
