Gordita on the Patio

My sweet, adorable girls, precious as always! Emmie always loves to dictate where we “put” Addie in her classroom, and today we dropped her in her old classroom, so she was excited to find something “new” for her to play on today.

Went out to lunch with my work friends today, to celebrate Heather’s birthday. She chose La Tiendita (she loves Mexican food as much as I do), and we had a delicious lunch out on this cute little patio. It was crazy windy, but the weather was perfect and the sunshine felt great.

I got the al pastor gordita (left) and the carnitas sope (right), and both were extremely tasty.

The girls both had a good day at school, and Addie just kept practicing her walking more & more.

Made a simple chicken & onions, noodle & steamed broccoli dinner, and everyone cleaned their plates, or their trays, in Addison’s case.

Little Chickpea just can NOT sit still these days, and is constantly up and practicing her walking. We won’t be a bit surprised if she really gets the hang of it and starts walking on her own in the next couple of weeks!

She actually stood here completely by herself for a few seconds (just long enough for me to pull my camera up and snap this picture in an instant), and then she plopped down. Then she came over to me, and was leaning up against me, tried to take one step forward, but lost her balance and face-planted. Poor girl hit her nose on the floor and gave herself a bloody nose! It quit flowing relatively quickly (after I told Emerson to RUN to Jeff for a wet paper towel and his help), and I got her calmed down quickly as well. We gave her some Tylenol in case it was still a little painful, and then she gulped down her bottle and she was perfectly fine and ready for sleep.

Both girls are sleeping soundly in their little beds now, Jeff finished folding a couple loads of laundry, and I’ve been watching the first episode of season 10 of “Call the Midwife” on Netflix (and absolutely sobbing at just 20 minutes in), while writing this blog post. Going to wash up the dishes and bottles now while listening to my audio book, then probably find a dessert/snack and sit down to rest before bedtime.
