Made some egg sandwiches for breakfast today, and this little cutie watched my every move, and even helped me out with a few little things. She was just being so, so sweet!
Emerson and I had a short little choir practice at church this morning. Tomorrow, we’re having our typical worship team choir, but we’re adding in some of our kiddos too! So we all had a rehearsal this morning, and Emerson is singing a solo on one of the songs! Her friend Makenzee is singing verse one, and Emerson is singing verse two, and I’m on a mic right next to her, singing along as well. 🙂

Back at home, Jeff snapped this photo Elsa was out in the back yard, wandering around on an old slide, on top of the busted pool from the summer…

After choir, Emerson and I picked up our weekly grocery order, got it all put away, and then made up lunch. Tried out this new brand of canned tuna, mainly just because I earned a bunch of Fetch points for it, and it was really good, even though I do actually like white albacore over yellowfin.

I settled down on the couch after lunch with a cup of coffee, cuddled up with Emmie and a blankie watching a Christmas movie. And before I knew it, Jeff was telling me to put the coffee down on the table, because I was starting to fall asleep while still holding it. After my accidental two-hour couch nap, we cleaned up the living room all together.
Then we left Jeff at home working on the dishes, and I took the girls to the park because they were dying to play outside. We pulled up at our neighborhood park, only to find there was no playground! They had ripped out the entire structure and are apparently going to be rebuilding it. But there was a sign with an address that said something like, “Try out this other park at whatever road…” So I plugged it into the gps, but when we got there, it was just a tiny skate park, and no playground!

So instead, we went to our third park, Emerson’s favorite ninja course park.

We stayed at the park for about 30 minutes or so, but there was a group of teenage girls just kinda sitting in the middle of the ninja course, in Emerson’s way. And eventually she heard them calling her names, and she just wanted to go home after that. So we set up a cozy little spot in our front yard under a golden tree to read and have snacks and just hang out together. And it was actually so nice and perfect and kinda magical, just the three of us, in the perfect weather, in our own little spot.

We had another random dinner scrounging up whatever we had on hand, a mixture of leftover pizza, tuna sandwiches, and ramen noodles. I got the girls into the bath after dinner, and they got all nice and clean and put on clean nightgowns. While they were in the bath, I asked Jeff to get out my puzzle table, and I left a Christmas puzzle on the coffee table that I wanted to start on. Well when I came back up front after their bath time, he already had all of this laid out already! He said all of these chunks were still put together inside the box, so he left them that way. I decided that was fine by me, since this is actually a 1000-piece puzzle, and those usually take me forever and day, and Christmas is only a few days away! I actually thrifted this puzzle after Christmas last year, and haven’t done it yet, so I’m glad to get it out now!

We settled down for some tv time, and sleepy little Addie Pie fell asleep on top of Pennie while we were watching stuff. We let her stay there for a while, and then I carried her to her bed in Emerson’s room, and she never even woke up.

Need to update my fingernails to something festive for Christmas this week, so I’ll work on that while I watch “A Cowboy Christmas” on Netflix, which is very cute so far.
