I specifically dressed the girls in similar somewhat-coordinating fall-ish colors this morning, and they looked adorable. I especially loved Addie’s little hand-me-down moccs a friend gave me, that we almost forgot about…
We had an incredible morning at church today, starting with an awesome complimentary coffee bar, from the ministry of Chi Alpha, which is an outreach ministry from GC, on the FSU campus. Then we had an awesome missionary as a special speaker, and it was baptism Sunday, which is always amazing and makes me cry.
Since I started with a hot white chocolate & caramel latte before church, I ended the morning with an iced vanilla latte, and tipped them well 🙂
After church, I called in a pick-up order at Mizu for BOGO sushi rolls for me, and fried rice for Addie. It took them way longer than they said it would, but it was delicious and worth the wait. Then after lunch, I rocked Addie for a little bit, and laid her down once she fell asleep.
Meanwhile, I left Jeff and Emmie at church… they had pizza for lunch there, and then did a family fun run to raise money, for this year’s project missions to build a school for deaf children in Nicaragua. The plan was for it to be a color run, but it was a little to cold and dreary for that, so they all decided it was just a fun run.
Once Jeff and Emmie got back home, I was kinda dozing off in the recliner in the living room, so Emmie just crawled up in the chair with me, and we both napped for a little while together.
Then late this afternoon, I put together a double-recipe of everyone’s favorite “stick of butter rice” to take to our Friendsgiving at church tonight. This is the most simple recipe, but it’s sooo good, and for real, everyone loves it. I even got talked into making it again for family Thanksgiving on Thursday, even though I had plans to make a new Pioneer Woman recipe I’ve been wanting to try, for olive cheese bread 😉
(Forgot to take a picture of the rice once it came out, since we were in a hurry to get it packed up and out of the house…) But while the rice baked, Emerson helped me ice the cake from yesterday, for me to take to my office luncheon tomorrow.
I did in fact start my puzzle last night. It’s 1000 pieces though, so my only goal last night was to get all the pieces flipped the right way, and separate the edges. I tried to today to get the edges all fitted together, but I only had about 30 minutes, so I didn’t get very far. My plan is to glue this together when I’m done, and hang it in my office at work. My goal is to get this done in the next week or so, in hopes it doesn’t take up our whole dining table for the next month! Wish me luck!
And then it was time for Friendsgiving at church! This wasn’t actually church-wide, but it was 5 or 6 of our Connect Groups all combining together for our end of the semester Friendsgiving dinner. And it was a great night!
Emmie stubbed her toe on my bed walking around the house, and came back to the living room crying and upset. Addie had been in Jeff’s lap, but when Emmie plopped down next to me, Addie said, “Uh-oh!” then got down to come love on her sister, because she was very worried about her.
Not too long afterwards though, Addie was sound asleep with Daddy, and Emmie and I went though her bedtime routine together.
Since Emerson is out of school all week, she’ll be spending the next two days with Grandmommie. So we got a bag of clothes packed for her tonight, and she’ll go over there tomorrow morning, spend the night and then we’ll see her again Tuesday. We’ll miss her, but I know she’s going to have a great time, getting all that one-on-one special attention 🙂
