Neither Jeff nor I were volunteering this morning, so we had a slow, late, easy morning getting ready at home, and showing up to church all together, a mere 15 minutes before the service started. And these cuties were so pretty today!
Addie brought her own teeny-tiny purse today that she wanted to show off for the pictures, and then as we started to walk away, she was like, “Wait, we have to do a hug picture!” And she proceeded to direct and pose Emerson back to the spot she wanted her in before I took the photo.
After church, we grabbed a whole turkey sub from Publix for Jeff and I to share for lunch, and a couple of BOGO popcorn chicken cups for the girls’ lunch. We ate at home, then Jeff stayed home with the girls, and I ran back to church to help with set-up and decor, because Mega Sports Camp starts tomorrow! (Which is basically a sports-themed version of the typical VBS.) I was there helping my sister, along with one of our friends (and a whole bunch of others) for a few hours. Once my portion of things were completed, I ran across the street to treat myself to a frozen coffee from Dunkin before heading home.
I had a little time to rest once I got home, and then we did some of this and that around the house. For instance, we reorganized Emmie’s little reading corner, and put up these tiny string lights, and she did a big reveal to Addie (in a ballerina dress), and Addie literally gasped like it was the best thing she’d ever seen. They cuddled up in there for a while afterwards, reading and playing together. The whole ordeal was very cute and sweet.
We accidentally had sandwiches for both lunch and dinner today, since we had Pub subs for lunch, and then I made the “grinder salad” sandwiches that were viral online a few summers back. We got obsessed with it then, and then kinda forgot about it recently, but I thought about it last week (I think I was telling Ryan about them for some reason), so I decided we should have them again tonight for the first time in a while. I always like to make more of the salad than is needed just for the sandwiches, so we can have more on the side, and scoop it up like dips with these cheddar & sour cream chips. It’s soo good!
We watched a little bit of “Wicked” while we ate dinner and then had a sing-along for a little while, until it was time to switch gears and calm down to get ready for bed. Gonna go work on some dishes and try to get things set up for a new week. It’s crazy I was out of work for a full week last week, so I’ll have to get back into the routine tomorrow. Except with Mega Sports Camp at church this week, our regular routine will definitely be thrown off, but we’ll figure out how to work around all that…
