I had very few minutes to spare today, so I did both of the girls hair up nice in cute little claw clips.
Emerson had a fun run at school today, and Addison had pink out day at her school.
My little girl was back in bookworm mode in the car one the way home this afternoon, which gave me an idea for later at home…
This morning, Aunt Meggie and Uncle Bo did a special anti-bullying rally for the 5th graders at Gilchrist, and they got there early during breakfast, so Emmie was able to get some special hugs!
Three of us had our cereal in giant mug-bowls for dinner, and Addie had hers in a large mug, and loved drinking the milk after and pretending it was coffee.
And then we had our own little book club out in the front yard, like proper Friday night bookworms! Emerson actually did finish the very last of her book, Addison just flipped through all of her books, and I managed to read about three “pages” of my Kindle book, in between all the chaos.
While we were outside, we heard some music playing from not too far off. We stopped to listen, and eventually an ice cream truck drove past our house. We waved and them and they waved at us, but they kept on driving. They went to some nearby apartments, and we could hear them for another 10 minutes or so going through there, and the whole time we were hoping they’d come back. And when I could tell they were getting closer, Emerson went racing inside to get Jeff and some money, and we bought ice cream right from our driveway! The girls loved it, and just thought it was the best thing ever. Emerson couldn’t believe it was real, and not just something that happened in the movies 🙂
Emmie and I went to “bed” early tonight, so we could have a lot of time to read Harry Potter tonight. Pennie also spent some time in the bed reading with us too, and then Emmie and Pennie had a little moment together.
We did stay up later than usual tonight, but it was Friday night, and that’s what Friday nights are for!
