We slept in until like 7:55 am, which was late for us in the house, with our early-rising toddler girl. She couldn’t wait eve one second for breakfast, so she had some “cunch cunch,” aka cinnamon toast crunch.
She ended up eating two bowls of cereal, and also drinking up two bowls of cinnamon milk, all while I cooked French toast for breakfast, in the morning sunshine.
We kind of lazed around the house for a while, playing and reading books and watching videos, until we were ready to venture out in the world. There were all sorts of things we needed from Home Depot, so we all donned our masks, and did some shopping.
We grabbed our Walmart grocery pick-up order, and also lunch from the Wendy’s drive-thru, and then headed home to unload the groceries and eat our lunch at home. She loved this little giraffe toy that came in her kids meal, and sat so sweetly putting the little stickers on and talking to the giraffes and about the giraffes, and it was precious.
I put her down for her nap after lunch, and then got busy around the house. Jeff went out to go help an older lady from his parents’ church with some computer issues, so I washed the dishes and put away the groceries, and cleaned the kitchen.
Also, my sister and her hubby recently painted their kitchen cabinets, and even though we’ve wanted to do the same to our kitchen for the last 3.5 years, seeing them do it has finally motivated us to get moving on it too. So we bought some of the supplies at Home Depot today, and grabbed some of those paint swatches, and we’re hoping to get started (a little bit at at time) this coming week or next weekend!
Anyways, I then made myself and iced coffee to sip on while I blogged and watched an episode of “New Girl,” before getting back to work tidying up the living room and folding a load of Emmie’s clean clothes once she woke up from her nap.
She’s NO help at all with the laundry, but dang she’s cute reading books.
She also decided she wanted to be a kitty cat for a while, and she’s a really cute kitty cat too!
After a while, we went over to Jeff’s parents’ house for a Memorial Day Weekend feast! She baked ribs and a pork loin, plus homemade mac & cheese and corn on the cob. And y’all, it was delicious! Last weekend she planted some herbs in her little container gardens, and she used some of those herbs on the pork tonight, and it was soooo good. Her and I were both obsessed with the pork tonight!
I just LOVE watching this tiny girl eat corn on the cob!
We brought Pretzel over there with us tonight, so I gave him a quick bath in their laundry room sink. Emmie was so intrigued watching, and just sat there with the sweetest smile on her face, talking to him and wanting to touch him while he was wet. It was precious!
She was hyped up on cool whip and chocolate chip cookies, so she did the tooty-ta dance and the count-to-100 exercise moves, and she was just being really silly and adorable.
She was a really sweet little Tater Tot at bedtime, reading her mermaid book, and doing prayers. That little bear she’s holding says a sweet bedtime prayer (“Now I lay me down to sleep…”) and so every night she pushes the button for her bear to say the prayer, and then I say my nighttime prayer, and it’s just all so sweet and adorable.
The house is nice & tidy and there are no dishes to wash, so I get to just sit down and chill and relax, because this Mama is tired!
