French Fry Floatie

We’ve had a great, long day today, and lots of pictures and lots of fun, so I’m gonna try to keep the writing to a minimum tonight… Egg sandwiches for breakfast, with cheese and bacon bits.

She put on her own hat, picked her friend for the car, grabbed her water bottle all on her own, and stood by the door waiting for us to head out, to go pick up sissy!

After a short visit at Grammy’s house, we were back home for a day of chores and fun. They loved trying on Daddy’s mud boots.

And loved watching Daddy do yard work.

Did some coloring on a broken-down cardboard box, then they both went wild eating three bowls of mac & cheese each for lunch, followed by the last few bites of our leftover popcorn from last night.

Addie went down for a nap after lunch, and then Emmie and I tie-dyed her plain white terry-cloth cover up, which was all her idea, and she has been dying to do it for this past week.

After Addie woke up, Jeff blew up our new summer pool, and I blew up the french fry float, and once it was filled up, the girls and I went for a little swim in the freezing cold hose water. Jeff joined us eventually once he called it quits on the yard work for the day.

This french fry floatie took up most of the small pool, but the girls both loved playing on it, and I even laid around on it for a little bit too. I told Jeff I wanted to arrange some alone mommy time with my Kindle on the floatie at some point, because that would be so nice.

I also pressure washed & scrubbed down our patio table while we were out there, which we had turned upside down and pushed halfway under the banana trees during a bad storm a while back, and it was super messy and covered in plants and such. Looks much better now, so I’m hoping we can eat outside a few times before it gets unbearably hot.

I always set up the chairs and towels like this, to create a little tiny privacy fence between our pool and the road.

We washed the girls’ hair and cleaned them up out in the pool, then got them in some warm dry clothes. We got dressed ourselves, and went out to get dinner. We let Jeff choose, since he had worked so hard doing yard work for like 6 hours, and he chose Echalee, which is my favorite Mexican place, and so obviously I loved that. And someone fell asleep on the way there…

A few weeks back, I found this wicker chest on the side of the road in my parents’ neighborhood, and my dad helped me pick it up. We brought it home last weekend, and got it cleaned up today, and put it in Addie’s room for all of her stuffies. Emmie helped me clean up everything else, and things look so nice and organized in there now.

And Addie was looking adorable in her new avocado toast jammies that Grandmommie got for her birthday.

Emerson fell asleep on the couch, before 8pm, Jeff fell asleep a few minutes later, and then I rocked Addie to sleep not long after.

So now that I have all three of them asleep and tucked away in their beds, I’m gonna just watch a little tv, and probably fall asleep in the living room soon myself…
