Little Sister was all bundled up in her “baby sheepy” jacket, as she calls it, on this cold morning.
And Big Sister was all smiles in her blue checkered fleece today!
We were down to all the random bits & bobs of leftovers from this week’s meals, so today’s lunch was a mish-mash of things, that actually turned out to be delicious all together!
Emerson had quite a fun day at school today. In her “creative academics” class (which is for the gifted students), they were doing some experiments, and the whole second grade got a cool visit from “Animal Tales” where they saw fun, unique animals up close, and they got to pet a few of them too.
The second location of 7Brew in Tally has just recently opened up this week, and this weekend is their grand opening. But tonight from 5-6pm they were giving out free small drinks, so the girls and I ran up there, and made it right at 5:55! Emmie and I got decaf iced cinnamon roll lattes, with extra cinnamon, extra sweet, and it was sooo good. And Addie got a peach smoothie. We love free drinks!
Tonight was of course our typical Friday night pizza night, so that was easy peasy. Especially since Jeff got the pizza in the oven before I even got home. So while the pizza was baking, I decided to put together an overnight French toast casserole, with the almost-stale bread we had leftover from grilled cheese sandwiches last week. So tomorrow, I just have to pop it in the oven, and we’ll have a hot, delicious breakfast ready for us!
We had a little family movie time while eating dinner, and then for a while afterwards, before it was time to get the girls in bed. I read aloud our Boxcar Children book, and the chapter was titled “Oranges and More Oranges,” and so Emmie doodled a whole page of oranges while I was reading, which I thought was super cute.
Jeff got Addie to sleep in her bed, and Emmie is sound asleep as well. Glad we have ourselves a nice little 3-day weekend now! Gotta finish up our grocery pickup order, and make ourselves a to-do list for chores and errands, and make sure to add in fun time and rest time and family time too.
