This morning was another one of those days we were all running around wild and crazy, just a few minutes later than I typically like. But I got lunches packed, and coffee made, and dinner in the crock pot, and we made it out the door just fine.
And I still made it to the coffee truck on time, and I didn’t drop my entire iced latte in the parking garage today, like I did last week! And I had a delicious giant double-chocolate chocolate chip muffin for breakfast (I think they get them from Tasty Pastry?).
And then for lunch, I asked Jeff to come pick me up for a taco lunch date, from another food truck. Comeback Tacos is now permanently parked in midtown (right at the intersection of Thomasville, 7th & Meridian), and he’s doing $1 street tacos all summer long. And they were soooo gooood! Also, since it was our first (official) time there (he did tacos at a church event for us a few years back that I tried), he gave us a free taco to try while we put our order in on the tablet kiosk thing. Then between both of us, we ordered 8 total tacos, a mixture of beef & chicken, and it was delicious! The tacos were small, and I could have eaten at least two more, and Jeff said he could have as well. We’ll definitely be comin’ back there again very soon, many times during the summer while the tacos are only $1!
Jeff picked up Addison after school, then he made rice & lima beans to go with the pork loin I put in the crock pot this morning. And I got a nice start on my new Kindle book while watching Emerson at gymnastics again tonight.
You can see her progression of these beam cartwheels in this video, how she practices a couple of times, and then finally sticks the landing on the third try!
Emmie and I were both super hungry by the time we got home, and my girl finished her whole plate, then had seconds of rice and pork, and finished off the rice and pork on Addie’s plate too.
Bedtime went well for everyone after some books and loves and lullabies, and Emmie specifically fell asleep super quickly, although Addie was up like 30 minutes later…
Two out of my three meals today came from a food truck. I halfway considered finding a third food truck on the way home, just to round everything out! But I knew there was food at home, so I resisted the urge… Gonna do a few of my closing duties for the end of the night, and then settle down for some tv time with my hubby.
