First Sips & Green Lights

Jeff left the house dark & early this morning to meet up with some church guys for a coffee shop Bible study, so Mommy was in charge of allllll the things today. We made it on time, and everyone was smiling, with lunches & waters and everything we needed. So that was a win!

We also got to see the trippies, and that was great too! I love everything going on in this picture too – the way Emmie and Ellie are standing, the way Riley is patting Addie’s booty, and the way Kensley is smirking at me!

The only issue we ran into, was apparently I forgot to press the “start” button on my coffee pot, and so my pot didn’t brew. But Jeff ordered me a hot latte from Red Eye, so I still had yummy coffee! I love this on their coffee sleeve too, “A few of our favorite things: First sips. Sunrises. Green lights. Warm Cookies. You. ❤️”

And since I was feeling a little under the weather today (slight congestion, slightly sore throat), I made myself some hot tea this afternoon. My honey was kinda old and crystallized, so I put it down in the boiling hot water still left in the kettle after I poured my cup, and it got warm & soft and I was able to squeeze some into my tea.

And today we started back another fall session of gymnastics for Emerson at TGC! She’s in the Intermediate 2 class these days, and her classes are once again every Tuesday/Thursday from 5:30-7pm. So I’m back to 3 hours a week of reading in uncomfortable chairs! But honestly, I love this time that I get to watch her do what she loves, and get some extra reading time in too 😉 (Currently already moved on to book 3 of TSITP series, currently at about 57% in it, and will finish it tonight or tomorrow, since I’m absolutely flying through these books.)

Jeff had picked up Addison from school, and then they made chicken nuggets, mac & cheese and lima beans for dinner. Everything was ready just a few minutes after we got home from gym, and Emmie was completely starving. She ate four or five nuggets, and after finishing off the giant scoop of noodles she started off with, she helped herself to two more decent-sized scoops, before finally getting full.

We finished watching the end of The Princess Diaries, which we’ve been working on the last couple of days, and then got started on bedtime. Emmie was exhausted, and she was completely zonked out in just a few minutes…

This cutie little sister on the other hand, was fighting sleep with Daddy when I left Emmie’s room. She was very sweet and lovey though, and kept wanting to give mommy more and more hugs. Hopefully she’s asleep by now, since this was about 20 minutes ago, and hopefully she’ll stay asleep when Jeff tries to transition her to her own bed later. (Yes, we’re still working through that whole situation, just knowing that one day she’ll eventually sleep in her own bed full time, but just accepting the extra snuggles for now when it doesn’t happen.)

I drank a cup of Emergen-C with my dinner tonight, and I’m going to make sure to go to sleep at a good time tonight, and hopefully I won’t actually get this cold that I feel like is trying to start up…
