First Day of School 2019

Since Jeff and I were both still feeling nasty, we stayed home from work today. So I took Emerson to Grammy’s house, for her to do school drop-off. She wore a pretty dress for the first day in her new class, with a new pair of sandals!

And then she got to ride in the Jeep!

She was excited to explore her new classroom, but once it was time for Grammy to leave, she got a bit upset.

This is the first photo her new teacher sent, and you can tell she looks a little upset. She’s got her paci, and it looks like she’s holding a baby doll, but I have a feeling she perked up for breakfast time.

And since Aunt Meggie isn’t there anymore to check on her for us, Ms. Renee (the director), made a few special visits for us, and took a few extra photos.

I’m guessing by the pink on her hands, she had some fun painting this morning!

Jeff and I made it through the day with fewer “episodes” than yesterday, but neither of us are back to one hundred percent yet… We did manage to eat some Chick-fil-A nuggets for lunch, and even kept them down. We pretty much just binge-watched “Fringe” all day, and made it through seven episodes. (We didn’t watch it at all while the boys were here, and we missed it!) We’ll probably watch one more tonight before bedtime.

We were feeling alright, so we picked up Emerson from school. In the car, I was asking her about her day. She told me she did “puh-doh” (Play-Doh) and paint! She also told me she had a snack, and that she liked it! (But she couldn’t remember what it was.)

Then ran to Walmart for a couple quick items (like paper towels and Sudafed). Emmie wanted a cheeseburger for dinner, and since I didn’t feel up to cooking anyways, we readily agreed. We stopped at the BK inside Walmart, and Emmie ate this burger like a champ. I ate a Whopper Jr. (I think I was feeling too confident after the CFA nuggets), and almost immediately regretted it.

We had a little bit of playtime before her bedtime, but she was very tired after a big first day in her new classroom. We read one book, said our prayers, and then listened to our lullabies (I’ve lost my voice the last few days and can’t sing), and she was ready to lay in her crib.

I tried so hard to keep my face away from hers tonight, to try to lessen the risk of spreading germs back to her. But she’s just the sweetest little thing, and loves her mommy, and loves to give kisses! So I let her give me just one. Still hoping and praying she doesn’t get sick again, and that Jeff and I can get back to normal, soon!
