Today was my day on the worship team again, so I headed to church early. I had laid out dresses for the girls, so Jeff got them dressed and ready, and the three of them came right on time. Emerson apparently did some of her own makeup today, and got a smidge carried away with some lipstick 🤣
Everyone our lunch at Firehouse last week, so we went back again today for round two. Well it seems like everyone else had that plan too, because it was so full in there all the tables were taken and we had to eat outside. Luckily, it actually wasn’t overly hot, so it wasn’t too bad. And I’m kinda obsessed with their new zesty garlic hook & ladder – so good and so flavorful!
Mayonnaise mayo-nose.
After lunch, Addison and I laid down together and after she chatted about church things for like 20 minutes (literally, she was telling me every detail she could remember, trying to keep herself awake, while I was already falling asleep), she finally fell asleep for a short nap together. Then Jeff took the girls to meet up with Nana and PopPop at Capital Lanes. Nana’s office was sponsoring some sort of event so they got to go bowling there for free with them, and they had a blast! (I stayed home to sleep more, and to have some quiet me time, and I really needed that.)
When they got back home, I had already made some chicken and rice for dinner, and I was also working on making a batch of bacon & cheese egg muffins again for the girls’ breakfast this week. Emmie hopped right up and wanted to help out. I made them slightly different today, per Grammy’s recipe, by adding one cup of Jiffy biscuit mix, and using half the amount of eggs (6 instead of 12). Plus, I also got the Pam Baking “perfect release” spray, in hopes they would come out of the muffin tin better this week, because last week was a bit of a mess. And these came out absolutely perfect!
The girls are going to love eating these in the mornings, and I’m proud of myself for making them for them! I guess this might be our new Sunday night routine/tradition, at least for the summer months of June and July. But I might have to double the recipe, because I’m gonna want to eat these for myself too!
We always put Pennie in her crate while we eat, and Jeff found her laying all crazy like this, actually sleeping, when he went to get her back out.
We finished watching “A Dog’s Way Home” earlier (it was on Netflix actually, not Disney), and it was really, really good. My sweet little sensitive Emmie cried during the big emotional reunion at the end, and it was precious. So then we started a second highly emotional dog movie called, “Dog Gone” (I think?) also on Netflix, which will also be another good one.
Then I read a few library books to Addie, and she picked one more for Emmie to read to her, before we started getting both of them to sleep.
Emerson starts back at East Hill for summer camp again tomorrow, and she’s very excited about it! She laid out her outfit, and packed her swim bag, and I’ve got all the lunch stuff set out on the counter to make her lunch in the morning. I’ve also set up the coffee, and laid out Addie’s outfit too. I need to go wash some dishes now, before settling down to relax for my own bedtime.
