Sweet little girls, cuddled up reading a dinosaur book together early this morning, while I made us all scrambled egg sandwiches for breakfast.
After breakfast, we got dressed and then ran all over doing some errands at Goodwill, Target, DSW & Best Buy. Nana met us while we were out and about, and then after our errands, we had lunch together at Mission BBQ, which was really yummy.
Got these little matching outfits at Walmart the other day; they’re just so casual and so cute.
Still didn’t find just the right thing at the store, so I actually ordered some fancy, expensive, more supportive shoes online, and they’ll be here next week sometime.
This smoked skirt steak with garlic butter was really delicious, especially for a $12 steak. And those cheesy baked potatoes & cornbread were both really good too. I was so pleasantly surprised how good this really was!
After lunch, Emerson actually left with Nana, and we took Addison back home for a nap. While she slept for about 2.5 hours, Jeff and I were very productive. We finally got the Christmas tree taken down, I washed a TON of dishes (so many I ran out of hot water), and Jeff fold up two loads of little girl clothes (you fellow parents of tiny kids know that’s approximately 857 items).
And then I vacuumed and got the rest of the dining room cleaned up and put back together, with all the Christmas stuff piled up to put away later. (It goes in the top of Addie’s closet, and obviously we couldn’t do that while she was asleep in there, but we’ll get to it throughout the week.) I’m pretty sure I take and share this same photo every January once the Christmas tree comes down and the chaos is reigned in. But something about a clean room and a fresh start just makes me so calm and happy and content.
And it’s clear Emerson enjoyed her special time with Nana! They ran some more errands together, and then stopped by their church so she could play on the playground and in their nursery playroom.
After Addison’s super long nap, we loaded up and headed over to Nana & PopPop’s house for dinner with them.
Both girls were sleepy and starting to get a little bit too tired, so we headed home to get them ready for bedtime.
Now I can’t decide if I want to start a new puzzle now that things are finally cleaned up, or if I want to just sit down and paint my fingernails… Big decisions to be made…
