Festive Outfits

Today was supposed to be “wear orange” day at school, and although we still don’t have much orange clothing, we did have a few Halloween outfits we’d been saving that were perfect for today!

Wearing her leotard and tutu, her and her class went up to the front lobby to vote on their favorite pumpkin that some of the families have decorated this week.

One more photo of my girls together in their cute festive outfits.

Then Emmie put on her old unicorn costume and ran around the house, watching me cook dinner and entertain Addie. I made a meal that used to be in our regular rotation, but haven’t made in a long time, and it was sooo good – Thai coconut curry chicken ramen. I can make it without a recipe nowadays, but click here if you’re interested.

Oh and while I was peeling the fresh ginger, I peeled off a chunk of my finger as well. Jeff rushed to get me a bandaid (or two, so it wouldn’t bleed through), and then he finished chopping up the chicken for me.

Emmie tried the soup, but couldn’t really decide if she liked it or not, so she kinda had a snack-supper with string cheese, apple sauce, garlic toast and apple sauce. (All her choices, of course.) And we let Addie try some of the applesauce, and of course she loved it! She kept grunting and fussing in between bites, but would calm down once I gave her another bite.

Bath after dinner as usual, and this crazy girl was actually sitting up when I first tried to lay her down in her little bath seat thing. It didn’t last more than about 30 seconds, but I was so proud of her!

We had some cuddle time after bath, and I spent some time digging through bins of Emerson’s old clothes looking for her supergirl costume for Addie to wear to school (and never found it, and that’s super frustrating), and then got the girls ready for bed.

I had tons of dishes to wash, but I was able to get them all done in about 20 minutes, and got the leftovers put away, and cleaned up the countertops. We have one clean bottle left, and we’ll have to wash the rest of them later, but I just didn’t feel like it earlier… Now I just need some time to relax!
