Father’s Day 2025

This morning, the GC Kids group held a special “Hotcakes with my Hero” breakfast for all the kids and their dads, with a fun little photo spot & props! (So after I dropped them off at church, I went to Dunkin for an iced coffee and a bagel 😉 )

During the end of the church service, the special speaker called up all the men to the front of the church to pray over them, and it was quite a sight to see them all together.

Then after church, they had some super cool old cars set up out front for Father’s Day photos!

After church, we met up with Jeff’s parents for a nice lunch at Harry’s. We had delicious food and a good time with family. (They also invited one of their church friends to join us, since his kids aren’t in town.)

These grilled fish tacos were sooo good today. Light and fresh, and the cheese grits had just enough of a little zing to make them slightly spicy.

This is Emerson’s little lighthouse, ocean & boat she drew, and I thought it was such a good picture!

When we finally made it home after a long, slightly late lunch, it was after 2pm, and we were exhausted! Jeff, Addie and I all laid down to nap, but Emmie decided she didn’t want to sleep, and she just stayed up to watch tv. But it was thundering and raining and dark inside, and we slept hard, and the best afternoon naps.

It was after 5pm when we woke up and dragged ourselves out of bed. Eventually, we actually got moving, and did some chores around the house, like laundry and dishes and tidying the living room. But these cute girls actually volunteered to help us with the laundry, and were carrying around this giant basket full of all of our clothes.

We kept working on our chores for a while, and I threw in a couple of frozen pizza’s to bake for dinner. We watched a movie in the living room while we ate, and then started on bedtime finally. Then of course it was time for books and prayers and lullabies, and then the girls were both ready for sleep.

We still have a few more little chores and closing duties to take care of tonight before starting a new week, so we’ll handle those things and then settle down for a night of rest.
