Farmer’s Market

First things first, we started out with some orange cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Luckily, Addison slept great through the night last night (after throwing up once at 5pm-something, and once at 7pm-something), and didn’t throw up again after that. She woke up happy and hungry, and ready to go! She had applesauce & toast & sugar-free Powerade, to keep things easy on her tummy, just in case.

After a little bit of chill time and play time (waiting on things to open up for the day), we went outside to check on our bananas that Jeff found yesterday. We googled when to pick them, and although the flowers are dried on top, the bananas themselves aren’t completely rounded out yet, so we’re leaving them for now.

Once we all got dressed (Emerson helped pick out her whole outfit, including the headband, and told me exactly how to do her hair), we headed out for a chill morning excursion.

We first went to the downtown farmer’s market to stroll around and peruse everything. We got a few goodies (one is a gift for my dad’s birthday, and some matching keychains for me & Emmie), and lots of yummy treats. We got a chocolate croissant for the girls to share, and some Indian samosas for Jeff and I, that were so incredibly delicious, and the sauce that came with them made it extra good. We kinda wanna go back again next Saturday, just for those!!

We had parked at the downtown library and walked the couple of blocks to the market, so then we walked the two blocks back to the library, and we were dying to get into that air conditioning for a bit. So we let the girls play in the kids area for a while, and Emmie and I picked out a new stack of picture books, for her to check out on her very own library card!

We had a light lunch at home, since we had so many great treats at the farmer’s market, and then played for a little while, to get Addison really worn out before naptime (since she had fallen asleep in the car).

Then I actually convinced Emerson to take a nap with me today, and not only did she fall asleep within just a few minutes, but she ended up sleeping for about 2.5 hours! Addison was also exhausted, and slept about 3.5 hours.

I napped for about 1.5 hours, so I had a little bit of quiet time by myself for a while. I picked out the girls’ outfits for the week, and laid them out on their dressers, and then I just read my Kindle and watched the pouring rain.

Then I cut into this bread for a late-afternoon snack, that we got from the bread vendor at the market. This is mozzarella French onion that he baked fresh this morning. And while it sounds super good, and looks really good, it honestly wasn’t as good as I was expecting. It just tasted a little too yeasty for my liking I think…

This little girl wanted to help me wash the dishes, and actually was a huge helper, and did a lot of the washing herself.

Jeff suggested we go to Echalee for dinner tonight, and I didn’t turn down that idea, cuz you know I love me some Mexican food!

We worked on folding a load of Addison’s laundry when we got home, and we actually put it all away and hung it all up, all in the same day 🙂 We took a few minutes to clean up some of the messy clutter that was going on in Addison’s room, and then we got started on a slightly later than usual bedtime routine for both girls.

Jeff got Addison to sleep really easily tonight, and laid her down before Emerson and I even finished all our stuff. (We read a lot tonight, and also had a video call with Nana, so we were taking forever…) But Emerson decided she wasn’t tired anyways (she did sleep way too much/too long this afternoon), so even though it’s almost 10pm at this point, she’s sitting in Jeff’s lap in the recliner, watching a calming video on YouTube, and hopefully we can get her to bed soon…
