Farm-Fresh Produce

This silly little goose was in a fun mood this morning, just being so silly at school drop-off.

And it looks like she had a good day at school too, although I don’t know who’s Elsa headband she’s wearing!?

I did a super fast Publix run on my lunch break, for a few things like eggs and coffee creamer and hamburger buns, and I also stocked up on some more fresh & frozen meats and such.

I didn’t get a photo of this stuff last night, but for Mother’s Day, Aunt Suzanne gave us all a mini bundt cake, and Megan got us each a small bouquet of flowers. So sweet! I also asked my Uncle Keith to shop for my fresh produce from my Aunt Suzanne’s mom’s farm out in Gadsden County. I told him the veggies we liked, and he brought me this box of farm-fresh produce last night. He said he gave me the special niece discount, so all of this was only $12! 🙂

So this week’s side dishes will all be built from this box of fresh produce, and so I’m feeling very farm-to-table over here at the cozy corner! 😉 I just kinda made this up, by slicing some of the red potatoes like wedges, then drizzled olive oil, garlic, S&P, and some onion, then mixed it all up and roasted them. And they were delicious!

The potatoes were also the perfect side to these Bleu cheese chicken burgers, topped with farm-fresh tomatoes as well! Plus a can of baked beans were also yummy too.

The tent is still up in the backyard, and we’re still hanging out and playing in it when we get some free time. Jeff got started on a project after dinner, and Emmie and I had a great time jumping on the air mattress and reading books together in the tent.

Another day, another potty break, and yet still no pee…

Would you please just look at this beautiful, soft, smooth, blonde hair!? I can’t!

I got Emmie down for bedtime really easily tonight (after our usual routine of: books and snacks and water and chats and hugs and kisses and prayers and lullabies), but then she was good to go.

Jeff was still finishing up with this project (I’m not even sure what he was doing, something to fix the flood lights on the carport?), while I washed up a bunch of dishes and cleaning the kitchen.

I think he’s finishing up now and then he’ll take a shower, and we’ll chill out on the couch for a while. We’re both pretty tired tonight though, so I doubt we’ll last long before falling asleep in the living room. For TV time though, I think that cute little bundt cake is calling my name!
