We reported to church nice and early at 7am this morning, for Jeff and I to serve through two different Easter services. We were exhausted, but we made it! After church, we got to visit the tiny baby animals we brought in today, with baby goats and baby chicks! And there are a lot of these photos included, but there was just SO much cuteness happening!!

These next two pics came from one of the teenage girls who helps serve in GC Kids, who was toting around a tiny digital camera to take photos, like it was 2007, and I love it. And the photos honestly look so good.

And we also had a little coffee bar with delicious creations.

And a little photo spot area for family photos!

Emerson specifically wanted a photo with this board all on her own.

After church, we planned to run home for five minutes to grab comfy clothes, and unfortunately we found a doggie in gastrointestinal distress… It was bad, but I’ll spare you the details. Long story short, we had to go through some hoopla to get her to the emergency vet, and Jeff’s parents came and rescued us to help. His dad stayed there with him, and Nana took the girls and I back to their house, where we finally had lunch at 2:30pm.

We were too starving to remember to snap a lunch photo, but here is the beautiful cake!

Ultimately, Jeff had to leave Pennie at the vet for overnight testing and observation (💸💸💸 ) but Jeff and Dave made it out to Nana’s house around 3:30, when Jeff finally got to eat lunch.
Later, we headed over to Grammy and Papa’s house for dinner with my side of the family.

Grammy and Papa also had a fun “snack-tivity” for all the kids, creating their own little empty tombs with the stone rolled away!

And of course there were little Easter bags filled with goodies for all the little kiddos!

We all went our separate ways to get little ones to sleep, and while Emerson and I were singing worship songs at the top of our lungs the whole drive home, this tiny sister fell asleep in the truck with Daddy.

But since we never had time for the girls to go through their Easter baskets at hour house today, we let them dig into them at home tonight. If any of you have heard how much Addison says “chicken” or “chicken wing” lately, you’ll see how fitting her new squishy is! It came with the name “Todd” though, which she wasn’t a fan of, so she renamed it to “Sparkles.” Emmie tried to tell her that didn’t make sense, since it wasn’t sparkly, but Addison very seriously told her, “It’s my choice Emmer!” Emmie’s came with the name “Alonzo,” which we have now renamed “Caramel.”

Luckily, bedtime went quickly and easily, and they’re both sound asleep. Emerson is back to school tomorrow, but Addison has one more day off. Jeff was going to stay home, but he was summoned for jury duty! Just one more wrinkle to deal with, but luckily Nana can help us out with Addie tomorrow.
So thankful for a risen Savior. And so thankful for both of our families, and getting to celebrate this day with family. And thankful for family who help us out with so much!
