It has been a truly blessed & beautiful Easter Sunday today! Starting off the post with a family photo, but this is not how we actually started the morning.
We actually started out the day at 7am, with just me and Emerson heading to church to prep for the first early service. I sang in the choir today, and my precious girl just wanted to go with me to sit in the service and hear the songs she heard me practicing all week. She sat on the front row with a buddy from GC Kids who’s parents were also on the worship team with me today (coincidentally a boy also named Emerson), and they both worshiped and sang and sat there so nicely, waiting for us to all come sit with them after we finished the songs.
Jeff and Addison got dressed on time, stopped for donuts on the way, and then came to meet us at church. That’s when we took our actual family photos, and also visited the little coffee bar they had set up for everyone.
We had an amazing (two) service(s), full of praise and worship and prayer and lots of people and it was just such a great morning! The girls also got to hold and pet and love on a baby goat and a baby chick!
Took a quick selfie (or 10) in the car with Emerson after church, waiting in the Taco Bell parking lot for Jeff and Addie to meet us there. We had a fast lunch there, and then raced home to make a whipped feta dip to bring to my mom’s house, and to get Addison down for a nap.
Emmie made herself a little cup of strawberries for her afternoon snack, and she was particularly proud of how perfect this one she picked was. So red, perfect shape, and she loved the little stem on it.
After Addie and Jeff woke up from their afternoon naps, we went out to Grammy & Papa’s house for Sunday Easter dinner with the rest of the fam. (Although we had a couple of photos with the cute backdrops at church, I didn’t particularly love those, so we took one more, which is better than the first few at least.)
And my dip tray turned out delicious, and was a big hit before dinner. Luckily, there was a little bit of dip left, so I’m looking forward to having that tomorrow with lunch.
Then of course we had all the usual’s for dinner – ham, peas, potato salad, red rice, rolls & deviled eggs dyed in fun colors!
Then we took all these wild kids outside to get some of their wiggles out, with all their scooters and bikes and wagons. All the little cousin crew on wheels!
One quick grandparents’ photo for the road, with them in their cute Easter-themed t-shirts!
And by the time we made it home, I was the only one still awake, just happily singing along to “Holy Forever” and “Been So Good” on my worship playlist. I actually didn’t even know they were all asleep, until I tried to tell Jeff something, and looked around to find everyone was out!
I gave these girls these cute little spring-themed Squishmallow’s for their Easter gifts, we watched one Bluey episode, and then we got started on bedtime, because everyone was sooo tired.
Everyone was easy and fell asleep super quickly, including Jeff. The girls’ clothes are already laid out for tomorrow, so I’m going to go set up Addie’s backpack, and prep the coffee pot, and hopefully tomorrow morning will run smoothly, after a full, fun weekend!
Praise the Lord for Easter Sunday! “Sing Hallelujah, the Lion of Judah has overcome!”
