Dumplings

Two sweet girlies, smiling so big in their matching Stitch t-shirts!

Addison made her name using letters during school today!

At pick-up at the end of the day, Meg and I just so happened to roll through East Hill at the same time to pick up all the big girls, Emmie & the trippies. And that meant we were both pulling into Growing Room at the same time to pick up the two littlest ones, Addie & Hayden. It was a very excited, chaotic circus of cousins loving on each other, acting like we weren’t all just together yesterday for church and lunch 🤣

It was taking Meg a few extra minutes to get Hayden ready (he needed a diaper change first), so I stayed in the hallway with all five girls, and you might have thought there was a tiny rave for all the noise. So finally I put on a stop watch, and made them all play the quiet game, and we did actually make it 1 minute 36 seconds, with only two little chatters during that time 😉

Can you believe all the blonde hair, and all the curls, on these two together!?

For dinner tonight, I tried out a new recipe, from one of those viral TikTok videos that everyone has been re-creating the last week or so for baked Thai red curry dumplings. I think this one is maybe considered the “original,” but there are literally tons of them…

I decided to put these dumplings on top of some classic ramen noodles, and I topped my bowl with tons of green onions, cilantro, chili crisp oil, and sesame seeds. And everyone loved this! Emerson told me to make this again, and Jeff said he’d rate it a solid 8 or 9 out of 10. It was super flavorful, without being spicy, but nice and warm and comforting.

After dinner, we all had a laugh trying on the new water accessories Jeff got for all of us – new masks, ear plugs, an even nose pincher things. (What are those called?) So now, we definitely need to test these bad boys out in one of our super clear Florida springs before the summer is over! But first, we’re pullin’ up to Grammy’s pool like this on Saturday!

My throat was feeling a little sore tonight, so Jeff took over the book-reading duties for Addie Pie at bedtime, and I just went to hang out with Emmie, who I found very sweetly and quietly reading in her own little reading nook.

The leftovers from dinner have already been put away (Jeff is planning to have that for lunch tomorrow), and the pots & pans have been rinsed out. That’s as much as I want to deal with tonight though, so I can just sit down and rest for the night, maybe with a cup of hot tea, which is weird in July, but sounds like it would feel good for my throat…
