This little cutie is getting to too tall for all the dresses that actually fit her… She had on a different one first thing this morning, but even though it fit perfectly, it was so short her little bloomers were showing! So I grabbed this one next, but it was almost too short too. I think my girl has hit a little growth spurt and has gotten so much taller lately!
On my morning break today, I popped all this into the slow-cooker, for Crock-Pot Swedish Meatballs, which I decided tonight is one of my favorite meals. It was so good!
And I made sure to take time for some reading today, because even though I’ve been listening to audio books like crazy (as usual), I haven’t been reading as much lately. Pre-pandemic, I always read on my lunch break at the office. But while I’ve been WFH, I mostly watch Netflix on my lunch, which is enjoyable, but I’ve missed reading too!
Little bit had a good day at school, and at bedtime tonight told me all about coloring with white crayons. She also told me that her and William were sitting at a table and she had to get moved to a different table, because she wasn’t “paying battention.”
Pretzel wen to the vet today for his bi-annual check-up, ad he was tuckered out once he got home. He actually has a slipped disc in his back (which is very common in dachshund’s), so he has to take doggy ibuprofen for a while, and we have to somehow keep him from jumping for 10 days. Poor pupper!
But luckily, we have little tiny Doctor Emerson around to doctor him and take care of him. She was so sweet and gentle with his check-up!
The Crock-Pot Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes and fresh steamed broccoli was all super yummy! It was practically like we were in the IKEA cafeteria! We even still had some of the jar of Lingonberry jam from IKEA, from our trip there back in January.
We busted out another of Emerson’s birthday gifts tonight – this awesome bubble gun! And it made the biggest bubbles I’ve ever seen! Emerson was very thrilled with it. And even though it was definitely entertaining, I was dripping sweat just sitting in the chair in my jeggings, so we didn’t last long outside…
We got her cleaned up in the bathtub, and she splashed around and got me soaking wet. But she’s adorable and just so silly, so I don’t mind. We read the dinosaur birthday book again tonight, and she made me read it three times in a row again, while she snacked on some Cheetos.
I also just couldn’t get over how perfectly adorable she looked tonight in her teeny shorts and white tshirts and white socks. So comfy casual. And that face! And her freshly washed beautiful blonde hair! I’m obsessed with my little girl, if you don’t already know that…
Gabe washed some of the dishes while I put Emmie to bed, but he abandoned ship and I had to finish everything up. But all is clean and taken care of now, with the leftovers put away for lunch later this week. Jeff actually went to bed early, and the boys are in their room playing video games. So I’m going to read a little bit, and then watch a little bit of tv, and then head to bed later, after enjoying some quiet, relaxing time all to myself!
