Conversations with Addie Pie

We were all in one car this morning for all the drop-off’s around town. I actually drove us today, but I just didn’t feel like being in the family car selfies at 7:45am. I wasn’t awake enough for that yet! 🤣

But everyone was happy and we all had a good start to the day.

Then we did the whole thing in reverse, picking up one person at time at the end of the day, until the whole family was back together. Addie was literally skipping like 8 inches off the ground, she was so happy to be going home with her Daddy!

I had two very sweet little helpers tonight making dinner with me. I air-fried some chicken tenders, Addie “helped” me with the frozen waffles, and Emmie made the salad kit again. And we had chicken & waffles for dinner! Not the fancy, homemade, very southern, Brunch version. This is the lazy mom version, which was quick and easy, but very yummy, and the girls both ate very well, and with no complaints!

Each girl ate one whole waffle and one whole chicken strip (and probably just two bites of salad), but that was actually a lot for them!

Addie was being so cute and sweet and chatty at dinner, and I just propped up my phone to video her. I actually took 5 minutes of video, mostly just of her, with Jeff and I chatting with her. Emmie had already finished by this point, and had gone off to her room to do big girl things. It’s not a great video or anything, and I didn’t originally plan to share it here, and you can hear lots of annoying background noises like my fork scooping my salad over and over again, but it’s still very cute. I also just really love her little tiny three-year-old voice, and I’d been wanting to get it on video for a little while now.

I shared my August reading wrap-up today, even though it wasn’t really a great reading month for me… Well, three of the six I read were four-star books, so that’s good. But quantity-wise I was lower than usual. I’m actually three books behind my “goal” on my Goodreads tracking challenge, so I better get outta this little mini reading slump!

Emmie finished up her homework, and we got the kitchen all cleaned up. Bedtime went pretty smoothly for both girlies, and now Jeff and I are going to watch a movie on Netflix, and fold some clean laundry.
