All these pretty girls, looking so pretty in pink, for a big group drop-off this morning! Then our big party of 5 girls and 2 mommy’s went around to 4 different classrooms, dropping off all the girls in their respective places. (Ellie is staring to move up to the next class already, before the other two, because she’s so smart!)
Both girls had a good day today, and Emmie was even twinning with one of her little friends!
As always, Addie fell asleep in the car on the ride home… This girl loves herself a car seat nap!
And because I forgot to defrost some frozen chicken to cook four our planned dinner tonight (and I didn’t have anything else to do at the last minute, or anything I felt like eating), Jeff picked up Guthrie’s for us for dinner instead. And of course it was delicious. They don’t have kids’ meals, but Emmie and I just shared my meal (with an extra piece of toast), and we still couldn’t finish all of those fries!
She sliced up her own banana to eat with her dinner. (The color on these next two photos was super yellow-y, and this is the best I could get with some editing…)
After dinner, Emerson said she wanted to take a big girl bath all by herself, without her baby sister. She even picked out one of her bath bombs from her Christmas stocking for the bath. But after she played around for a few minutes, she was looking a little forlorn, and rather glumly said, “It’s so quiet in here without Baby.” I said, “Awww do you miss your baby sister? Are you actually a little bit lonely without her?” And she admitted she was. So we hollered out for Daddy to bring Addison, so we could throw her in the tub with big sister after all. Then they both played and splashed together, and Emerson washed Addison’s hair ever so gently. It was very sweet.
We had a few minutes after bath for some cuddles and dessert for Emmie, and watching a little bit of her “comfort show,” Matilda, before bedtime. She’s chosen this same book the last three or four-ish nights, and is starting to memorize some of the lines and recites them as I read them. During this first picture, she was like, “I’m gonna count to three and then say ‘Pretzel.'” So I snapped the first picture when she was a little more chill, and then the second crazier picture after she counted herself down
Once Jeff and I switched and he went back to Emmie and I grabbed Addie, she finished every drop of her bedtime bottle, and then promptly rolled over in my arms and went straight to sleep. I held onto her for about 20 minutes just getting all the sleepy snuggles, but she was a little restless not being able to get comfy, so I took her on to lay her down in her room.
Emmie has requested that I come back to check on her after finishing this blog post, so I gotta run back there and give her one more night-night love, and then hopefully she’ll be ready to sleep, if she’s not already.
