Chicken Shop

Had to bust out pants for the first time this season, in the very cool weather this morning. Of course, they thought it was literally “freezing,” but they survived 😉

In the car-line drop-off at Gilchrist, Addie started getting sad for Emmie to leave, so she got pouty and whiny and said, “I just love Emmie.” So they held hands until it was time for Emmie to get out of the car.

Today was boss’s day, and my first as a supervisor. And my little unit of three employees gave me a $30 Starbucks gift card, and I was both shocked and so grateful for that! They suggested I take myself there with a book for a little bit of quiet me-time, and I thought that sounded like a good idea!

Last night’s leftovers held up really well and reheated so yummy. I just wished I had more basil, but the tiny little bit that Walmart gave me was already half dead & black the day we picked it up, so I used what tiny bit of good stuff there was last night. Also, I finally discovered today that my cute little rose-gold phone stand is also perfect for holding my little Kindle Paperwhite as well for reading during lunch, and I loved propping it up like this.

When we picked up Addie from school, she was so excited to see these pumpkins they had put out in the front lobby. She actually made us stop and take a picture before we could leave!

Jeff had gotten off work early today at 4:30, so he could pick me up at 4:45, so we could get the girls and scarf down a super quick dinner at the chicken shop, before getting Emmie and I to church at 6pm for our kids choir & praise team rehearsals, respectively.

Emmie is a part of the Christmas kids choir at church for the third year, and so that’s why she has to be at church early every week during the fall months. Tonight, I heard from all of the adults that work with the kids choir (including Meg), that Emmie did such an amazing job when they worked on her solo for the first time tonight during their kids choir rehearsal. We’ve been practicing together for a while now, and she’s getting really good at it. She’s gonna be so sweet and cute and good in the Christmas play in December!

We had special guest missionaries visit for prayer meeting tonight, and they set out a cute little display table of things from their time in Ukraine and Russia.

Had to get some baby Hayden loves at the end of the night, before heading out for home. Addison really loved his tiny little baby feet!

Emerson was so sleepy and went to bed really easily, fell asleep before I had even finished our bedtime routine in her room. Addison on the other hand was her normal second-child self running around wide awake, eating snacks and playing with Pennie and just being so silly, but also giving me tons of hugs and kisses and being so sweet. Jeff did finally get her to settle down and fall asleep, but it was 9:30 or later by that point!
