Chicken Pot Pie

When I walked into my office this morning, I was surprised to find a card on my desk, with a Starbucks gift card, for my one-year-supervisory anniversary! Tomorrow is in fact, my one-year anniversary in my current position, but I didn’t know they even remembered, and was so surprised!

The card was signed by my staff, some coworkers, friends and bosses, and the front of the card itself is actually a cute little book mark. So perfect! I was so thankful, and so honored 🙂

And also, since I didn’t have to take anyone to school today, I treated myself to Chick-fil-A breakfast on the way to work too, which was delicious, along with my homemade iced coffee.

And sweet little Addie Pie was ready to go for water day at school, in her sassy little two-piece “baby soup!”

Jeff had to leave work early today to ship off some computers at FedEx, so he also picked up Addie a little early. When they got home, they got busy in the carport, with Jeff still working to get the riding lawn mower u and running. And he did finally get it running! It’s still not totally done, but it drives, so he’s about 80% there at this point.

We got this pre-made chicken pot pie from the Publix deli last night, and Jeff threw it in the oven when he got home tonight, and it was super yummy. It’s one of Jeff’s favorite things, so we’ll definitely have to get another one of those again in the future. We’ve also always called Addison “Addie Pie,” but this past week we’ve actually started calling her “Addie Pot Pie,” so it was fitting to have chicken pot pie for dinner.

Addie wanted to go for a little ride on the lawn mower, so even though she was kinda scared at first, she put on Daddy’s protective headphones, and they went for a little drive down and back in the front yard! I actually remember riding around on mowers just like this with my Granddaddy at their house when I was a kid, so it was nostalgic watching Addie ride with Jeff on my Granddaddy’s old mower!

Addie and I watched Moana 2 together while Jeff got the carport cleaned up and then got himself cleaned up, and then we had some cuddle times and got her ready for bed. I did a tiny bit of kitchen clean-up earlier before dinner, but I’m still basically shirking all chores this week, and I’ll resume my duties tomorrow…
