Charlie Brown Christmas

Today’s dress-up day at daycare was “Christmas colors from head to toe,” so I found a hand-me-down Charlie Brown Christmas shirt of Emerson’s, and paired it with some red pants, and I’d say we nailed it! And of course we had to take a pic with the Snoopy door at school!

And we got to school again just in time for her to sit down at breakfast, where she immediately went for the sausage patty.

Then back at home, I made breakfast for Emmie and myself – eggs & toast for her, and avocado toast with fried eggs for me, which was sooo good.

After breakfast, we had a little bit of chill time, then I got dinner in the crockpot, and finally got ALL of the dirty dishes washed and the sink cleaned out. Then we followed that up with a quick walk / bike ride down the street.

We just had sandwiches for lunch all the way around, but I made mine & Jeff’s like that viral “grinder salad sub” from TikTok we loved so much back in the summer. I typically would have done it with better meat, better cheese, and better bread, but I used what we had today, and it was actually really good!

I had posted some baby things for sale on Facebook marketplace a while ago, and just sold a couple things today, so I met up with the girl at Walgreens to exchange. Then Emmie and I made a quick trip to Goodwill, where we found this adorable Mrs. Clause dress (size 6, to save for next year), for only $3, and we just couldn’t pass it up.

We considered running a few more errands, but both of us were tired and just wanted to go home. So we had some quiet rest time, watching an episode of Survivor again. Which led to her doing more “challenges” around the house, us playing a pile-it-up game with all the pillows and blankets we could find.

She needed to get back outside though, so we played in the carport for a little bit, until it was time to go pick up Addison from school at the end of the day.

And here’s a few pictures of Addie at school.

Once we got back home, I just had to boil some noodles, and shred the chicken in the crock-pot, and toast up some frozen garlic bread, and then dinner was done. We had the crockpot Olive Garden chicken pasta again, which is always yummy and eaten really well by all of us.

It was actually only the girls and I at the dinner table tonight though, because someone had a little car wreck & got stuck in the ditch in our yard tonight, and Jeff was outside trying to help them figure out what to do. (The guy isn’t from Tally, but was here staying nearby for Christmas, and wasn’t even driving his own car… it was a whole big hoopla, and there was even way more to it than that, but Jeff was just trying to help out if possible.)

After dinner, we kinda let the girls run wild for about an hour or so, while I chased around after them, and Jeff worked on cleaning up the front bedroom. We tend to let that room be a junky storage room, but it’s actually Ryan & Gabe’s room when they’re here with us, so we had to get it ready for them to be here with us for Christmas. He worked hard and got it all taken care of, and then he helped me get the girls down for bed. By that time, it was about an hour past their usual bedtime, so both of them actually went to sleep really quickly and easily.

Addison actually had a really rough night last night (woke up not long after I finished last night’s blog post, and was wide awake for an hour, then needed me to hold her for an hour; and kept waking up randomly fussing all night long), so I didn’t sleep very well myself. Hoping we all sleep better tonight!
