Cascades Splash Pad

My girls were so beautiful this morning for church in their matching outfits! Emerson was looking especially stylish, with her coordinating brown purse & shoes – it made her seem like such a big girl.

We had a great morning at church and Sunday school, and then we went to lunch at Firehouse with our friends Britteny & Steven, and all of our girls. Emmie and Elly are such sweet little besties together, and they had so much fun laughing and playing and eating together.

While Jeff got Addison buckled in her car seat after lunch, Emerson hopped into the front seat, buckled herself in, and crossed her legs, waiting for Daddy to see what she had done. So cute!

The girls and I went straight home for nap time after church, and we sent Jeff to Walmart to get our grocery pick-up order, and look for a few extra things we needed. Emmie and Addie both slept for quite a long time, so by the time they both woke up and we got moving, it was after 4pm. Emmie wanted to do something fun in the water, so we headed to the Cascades splash pad.

It wasn’t too crowded, but it was gray & overcast, so although both girls were having so much fun, they were also both freezing. So we only stayed for 10-15 minutes, before Addison’s chin was chattering (I say “chin” because she still has no teeth), and Emerson could barely move. But they loved it! We’ll have to go back on a much warmer, sunnier day, so that they can lay a little longer next time.

Addison looked so cute in this little mermaid towel/poncho situation, but of course it was huge and was about to swallow her up!

We got them both changed into warm, dry clothes before we left the park, and then had a little time to play at home. This little taco/avocado set is one of Addie’s birthday presents from us, and Emmie thought they were so cute, she wanted to lay them out like this so I could take a picture. Then she said, “well let’s do it like the monthly photos with the blanket, even though we won’t take her monthly photos anymore,” and set it up for a second picture. She’s just like her mama!!

We went simple tonight with some homemade tuna sandwiches for me and Jeff, and Emmie had her leftover sandwich from lunch, followed by some white rice once she realized that Addie was having white rice for her dinner.

Since we had had such an early/easy dinner, we had lots of time to hang out afterwards before their bedtime. Jeff and I were actually so stinking tired at that point, it felt like time was barely moving, but the girls were so sweet and silly, and it was a nice slow Sunday afternoon/evening. At one point, Addison just laid down and lounged in the crook of my leg, just hanging out for a little bit.

Then it was my turn to give Addie her bedtime bottle and rock her to sleep (while watching another season finale episode of Survivor), while Jeff and Emmie cuddled and did her bedtime. She has really gotten used to the whole milk now, and will suck down a whole bottle of cold milk, just like her warm formula bottles she used to love. But the milk is cheaper & easier!

I’m still feeling extremely tired tonight, so I’m not even going to bother washing the dishes that have piled up in the sink over the weekend, but instead I’m just going to let myself procrastinate my chores, and just get some much-needed rest!
