Carport Hangs & Tacos To-Go

Emmie had the other half of her bagel from yesterday for breakfast today, with a little cup of strawberry milk.

Complete with a little pink milk mustache and everything!

She did her preschool music zoom call, and then we did our Sunday school zoom call, followed by watching our church service on livestream.

We did communion again today for church, but I hadn’t gone grocery shopping yet this weekend, so we used Ritz crackers and Powerade for communion. (Last time, I made unleavened bread, and bought cran-grape juice, but this time it was just whatever I could find in the kitchen, which is fine, because it’s not the stuff that matters as much as the significance of the ordinance.)

I ate Jeff’s leftover pho from last night for lunch today, and I actually really liked it! He had some of the coconut curry ramen I made a few nights ago, and Emmie had a PB&J.

By the time we finished lunch, my girl was exhausted and even asked to go to bed. SO we tried to get her to pee on the potty first (which was a fail), and then we got her down for nap time super easily. Jeff left to go hook up some security cameras for an older lady he helps out, and I washed up all the dishes from the last couple of days, plus some Tupperware’s from cleaning out the fridge.

I will now always save the flowering/plant-watering chore for when my little girl can help me, because she loves it so much, and I love having her help!

I spent a few minutes going on a purge in the freezer, getting rid of the random half bags of chicken nuggets, peas, and freezer-burned ice cream stuck in the way, way back from Emerson’s second birthday party last summer. Yikes. Then we put a box fan in the carport for a little breeze, and then hung out and played for a while out there.

She was doing all these crazy, adorable little moves on her scooter, and kept yelling at us to watch her, even though we were already watching her 🙂

After lots of playing, we got hungry. We decided to order take-out again tonight, as redemption for the two mediocre meals we had yesterday. And since I chose both the lunch & dinner restaurants yesterday, I let Jeff choose for dinner tonight, and of course he chose tacos from TacoMora, and I was not opposed to that idea!

My favorite al pastor street tacos. Sooo yummy.

Plus their delicious queso.

We ate at the coffee table, and watched part of “Tangled,” and then played for a little while longer after dinner, before getting my chalk-covered, queso-covered toddler into the bathtub.

Bath time was followed up a non-successful toilet trip, and then by bedtime reading, prayers, snuggles and lullabies.

Jeff is currently outside being a good hubby, mowing the front lawn, while I sit on my booty in the air conditioning! Haha. There are plenty of other times when the roles are reversed though and I’m working while he’s resting, so I’m not letting myself worry about it 😉

Today was a good, low-key day, and I enjoyed spending the whole day with just my little family, in our home, being together. And now I’m looking forward to a little tv-time on the couch too.
