Busy Sunday

Beautiful girls on a sunny, windy, slightly chilly Sunday morning. Jeff and I were both serving in GC Kids, so that meant the whole family was at church at 8:30am ready to go! And on these early mornings, the girls bring their little tablets with them, and watch movies while we do what we do, until it’s time for everything to get started.

They each picked out a donut from next door once the little cafe opened, and were very interested in watching the big kids practice the morning song.

After doing all of the morning check-in for the kids, the other part of my job is taking pics and videos for the GCKids FB & IG, so I always have tons of photos on these mornings. Here are a few from today:

After church, we ran to Zaxby’s for the fastest lunch ever, and then dropped me back off at church for choir & band practice. And since we’re still in one car (Jeff ordered another part but it got lost in the mail), Meg brought me back home from church. Jeff and Addie were napping, and Emmie and I hung out a bit, until I took a quick little 15-minute nap. Then I packed up all of my tea pot and tea cup collection, and some Valentine’s decorations, and we went over to Nana’s house. She volunteered to host our annual Galentine’s Tea Party this year, so I took her all the things for the party this next Saturday.

She made homemade creamy cheesy chicken noodle soup with some garlic bread (and yeah, I had delicious carb-filled, homemade dinner), so that worked out perfectly for me to volunteer to bring the tea party stuff, and we ended up getting a home-cooked meal in the process 🙂

Addison fell asleep a little bit on the ride home, but Emerson just kinda talked our ear off the whole time 😉 They watched a couple of episodes of PB&J Otter, and I got started on some kitchen stuff. First, I mixed up some chocolate-chocolate chip muffins for their breakfast. Once I popped those into the oven, we went back to Emerson’s room with everyone and did our usual prayers and lullabies, and put the girlies to sleep.

Then I went back to the kitchen, and got busy on a few other things. I made a big bowl of tuna salad to eat for dinner tomorrow night. I also put six eggs in my little egg cooker to make hard-boiled eggs, to eat as snacks but also to add to the tuna. I also decided to make some high-protein, low-carb buffalo chicken dip, which one of my favorite TikTok-er’s always makes and eats for lunch at her desk (she’s an elementary teacher). It’s canned chicken, cottage cheese, ranch dressing, ranch seasoning, and buffalo sauce, plus S&P. I diced up a green bell pepper to eat with the chicken dip, and I’ll eat the tuna tomorrow night on some special low-carb tiny pita’s I found at Publix.

The hard-boiled eggs have been peeled and put in Tupperware, and my protein shakes for breakfast are stocked in the fridge. I also already set up the coffee maker to make a big ole pot tomorrow morning, and laid out everything Addie needs for her outfit (pants, shirt, undies, boots, socks & jacket), and Emmie can pick out her own outfit. Feeling very productive after accomplishing all of that tonight in the 30-ish minutes after getting the girls to bed, and ready for another week…
